fpconflict
If anyone out there has a "bad character" (ie: dark brotherhood completed, randomly slaying people, etc..) Aren't you tired having people cheer how nice of a guy you are for beating the arena and saving the Imperial city and whatnot?, I'd love to enter a town, and see those citizens run away from my very presence. I thought maybe a ring? (to be able to turn things on and off you know) that would be able to trigger NPC's fear within the radius. That would be quite awesome XD
Planty C
i think dat idea would be so amazingwot cud make it even better is that da guards would run as wellguards running away like little girls......now theres a thoughtlol ;D
LoginToDownload
Of course, then you have the interim "infamy" stage where guards go after you on sight... Maybe also disposition-modifiers... If something's worth doing, it's worth doing right. ;)
WoogieMonster
Being able to turn this on/off would be a MUST. If Fable taught me anything, it's that (1)making pelvic-thrusts at your wife will make her laugh rather than get her in "the mood" and (2) it's extremely difficult to accomplish anything when people flee in terror at the sight of you. And since the people in Oblivion are psychic, this difficulty would be raised to "impossible." You'd never get within a thousand feet of anyone, including that next murder target, because they'd already be running the second you walked into town. A good assassin is well-known and feared by the masses. A great assassin is unknown and loved by the populous. On a side note, please forgive me for comparing a work of art (Oblivion) to a crayola drawing (Fable). I already feel ill having done so, and my son walked by, looked at the screen, punched me and yelled "No, bad papa!". That should be punishment enough. fpconflict
I was thinking maybe placing some chunk of script that would simulate an event that make citizens crazy, i doubt this can be done without a headache festival and 3 galons of coffee. SO much to avoid the infamy thing and guards that wants you dead just for entering a town.
LoginToDownload
Actually, it would be easy. In fact, I might try it. Unfortunately, I would do it with large-area Scripted spells, so it would either hurt performance or "refresh" NPC reactions slowly. Dialogue "You're awesome"/"Holy Crap!" for fame/infamy would be easy on the modder and performance, though.
fpconflict
In fact, I might try it. Hell that'd be cool, i'm not too hot on scripts, more of a thinker - texturer.
Sypron
Its SO fun in assassin's creed. People don't run away at the sight of you because you have a high bounty, because you odn't get bounties. I started a fighbt outside a fortress, about 5 soldiers rocked up. ALl the populace was hanging around and watching. As soon as I killed one they all scattered screaming. After 10 minutes of killing whatever came my way I ened up with about 60 corpses and 10 fps. Any guard that walked by would just look at me, then run away.

It would be cool if this could happen in Oblivion, but to the point where you would be able to replace the concept that guards will stop running from you and return to their daily routine etc. This would be a very hard mod to make good... Guards need to do more than just walk around. Does anybody know where I can get a mod that modifies what guards do and a mod that adds in something along the lines that expressions like clapping, or handwarming and such get placed into the game where guards, as well as the player, can use them? NPC's also need to have longer chats in this game... XD
