traderpax
Okay, so I've had this game previously WITH mods, worked like a charm. Sometime ago (I'd say a month), either there was an update or perhaps me installing a mod or whatever and...my game started to CTD every time I clicked on a save and/or tried to start a new game. Here is exactly what happened: I would get to the main menu, click the 'load a save', the save would begin to load and about 5 seconds into it I would get a black screen for a very brief time, then my game CTD. I'd tried every thing I can think of, in sort-of this order:(1) deactivating, activating mods to see if a mod was one of the culprits; no go.(2) uninstalling ALL mods; no go.(3) deleting ALL my INI files and restarting the game (at this time, even this didn't work).(4) deleting ALL fallout files, ALL INI files, (sadly) ALL save files, reinstalling the game, game WORKED. At this point, the game worked. However, when I played long enough to get a save and made the appropriate changes to my INI as required to mod the game (namely, following the video tutorial for this by: adding the following lines to the Fallout4Prefs.ini file below the section marked [Launcher]:bEnableFileSelection=1 and also adding the following line in Fallout4Custom.ini:[Archive]bInvalidateOlderFiles=1sResourceDataDirsFinal= But the problem is, whenever I did this, my game would ALWAYS crash as soon as I started to load it. I've isolated the CTD because of the fallout4custom.ini file. I can have the prefs file changed and it is fine. But if I add the fallout4custom.ini file (it has never remade itself after the initial installation of the game once I deleted it), then the game no longer works. Anyone else having this problem? I've seen many comments and posts that appear that other people are having problems with this CTD upon load save game, but not necessarily attributed to the 'fallout4custom.ini' file. I'm not sure what to do. I can play the game in normal, unmodded fashion, but it's just boring as hell then.. :/.
