JDFan
Most likely a problem with the HDD -- to record using Fraps the system is using a lot of resources - Fraps saves the gameplay directly to the HDD uncompressed so it really stresses the HDD - Does your system have only 1 HDD or more ? -- If only one and using the same HDD to load the game files and write the Fraps video to there is going to be stuttering etc. when the HDD can not keep up - depending on the rest of your system specs having it record to a second HDD instead might help but even then recording gameplay takes a higher spec system to get smooth recording -- you might need to turn down some of the game options or record at a lower detail level - or change to a smaller resolution so that there is less info to be saved for each Frame. RGMage2
I have found that video rendering related programs open in the background, not even running anything, will cause fraps to kill my FSP when it starts recording. So if I record something and then view it in a video player, I must close that video player before I try another recording. Having Nifskope, Blender or the CS open in background will also hurt FPS.
