all party in group

No. Something like Party Limit is hardcoded into the game. I'm sure something like the 'Army' mod could be used to simulate having all party members, but I doubt they would exist as full companions. You would actually have to understand the programming language of the game and make a hack to allow something like this. And trust me when I say from my experience with making hacks for games that even if you HAD the tools it would be an incredibly painful process. In this case the engine itself would have to be recoded, which mean you would have to locate where in the code Party Members are handled, manually change it to a new amount, repoint the data, and then watch the game break because there was a septillion things that you didn't know were tied in and had to be changed.

Oh it's certainly POSSIBLE, just not realisticly so.

The Four-member Party is hard coded into the game. The only exceptions involve; a) summoned critters, (can have one for each Ranger in the Party); b) the "Extra Dog Slot" mod (which uses the sumnmoned critter functionality); or c) the Console Command "addparty", which gives you only "partial" companions (no banter or convo, no way to direct actions other than movement and targeting.)

Having played with a Party made up of all possible companions (including the "resurrected" one) I can tell you it's no fun. Combat is too easy, and the other aspects of the game fall flat if you can't interact with half your crew. :whistling:

Why would you want the all your companions in one party, anyway? It would make the game effortless. Did you find Nightmare difficulty too hard?

For Aesthetic reasons I understand why. Somedays you just wanna rock out with your full party, gives a nice group feel to the game. I also understand it from a 'toys' point of view, though I usually see the mindset reserved for TBS I.E. "Why give me 40 guys to use if the maximum deployment limit is always going to be 12?" Why not build the game around the whole group.

Of course things like 2 mages utterly ruin the game, since DA:O is HORRIBLY unbalanced

a. Part of the fun of DAO (for me) is the various personalities of the Companions. Sten and Oghren have basically the same skill set, but sometimes I prefer one over the other just for their wildly different attitudes! Same for Leliana and Zevran (depending on how you build them). And your Warden will probably be similar to someone in the group, but the devs don't know which one you'll choose, so they gave you options.

b. Once you have all the various abilites/spells/talents figured out (which means more than one playthrough, which means you already "know what's around the corner") EVERY game is unbalanced. I play exclusively on Nightmare, and have used Parties of "Three Mages + Dog", "Three Rogues + Dog", and "Three Warriors + Dog". (That last was the hardest one.) Takes a bit to get the hang of each type, but then becomes really fun when faced with an opponent who happens to be exactly the wrong type!
