They game may be released at 11/11/11, but then they have to make hundreds of thousands of CDs and stuff, right? Can that be done in 1 day? Not to mention how many shops that have to have it before it gets released

(How do they manage that, by the way, it would be so easy for a person to rob the car that transfers the game!, is that how leaks are released?)

Sorry for my lousy English but i've just throught about this a lot.

Is the game already complete?

That's what we call manufacturing and shipping ^_^

But more often then not, when a game is leaked, it is either an in-house leak, or someone at a game store takes a copy home to try it.

The game has definetely gone gold (industry term for final copy being sent to duplication). It was probably gold mid-last week as review copies started hitting desks on Thursday (??).

As far as duplication, check out this youtube vid:

About 1500 units per hour are generated so they've been running 24/7 for at least a week now and will continue running well past 11.11.11 to fulfill the demand.

The game went gold last Tuesday, which means its been finished quite a bit before that. Before a game goes gold, there are testing phases to go through etc. We cant know when the last real change was put in, but we can definitely know no changes have taken place for at least a week.

The game is done, essentially.

Retailers are already starting to see copies (which they of course cant distribute), and the Xbox version is already on private trackers and at least one semi-public tracker. By tomorrow, Skyrim for Xbox 360 will be hitting mainstream public trackers, more than one week ahead of it's street date. Thats how fast data moves nowadays. :/

Game stores will start receiving it sometime between this weekend and Tuesday. Most of them obviously won't be selling it that early, but if you have a local mom and pop store, you could always ask. Edited by b11a2

Thats true .. it only takes one ignorant employee to get a game early .. I got the sims3 three days before launch by asking an old lady working at a local videostore/bookstore/gamestore
