Question

Hello everyone! I have been pretty hyped about Skyrim for a while now. I have not played previous ES titles, but love rpgs. Anyway, I have a question regarding Bound Weapons specifically bows, and the Archery perk tree. If I cast a Bound Bow, (I am assuming casting the bow is what you do) and have perks under the Archery skill tree that enable bows to cause extra damage, does my magical bow then do greater damage as well? If the answer is obvious, or if someone has info regarding the mechanics in Oblivion as relating to this question please enlighten me! Thanks.

The bound item is just a piece of temporary equipment so would be applicable to any other affects related to equipment, including perks. Since there are many perks and such that adjust damage from the player, it would be safe to assume that the systems in place differentiate damage originating from the player and player's weapons from damage that comes from other sources.

I would assume so. You basically conjure a Bound bow. But I really don't know :(

Welcome to the elder scrolls!

Thanks for the welcome! :) And @Vagrant: Hmm I think I see what you are saying. So my Bound Bow would do more damage due to Archery perk tree damage increases, be able to zoom in and slow time, and have an increased critical hit chance if all those perks were chosen?

Vagrant0, where did you find that out? That's good stuff, makes Conjuration even better [:

I have no doubt, since all the game is really doing is temporarily giving you a bow that has an item address like any other item. In Oblivion for instance, all of your weapon abilities worked with conjured weapons.

Pretty much, you're probably able to play a character that conjures bows as a main source of offence.
