A problem playing as a different user

Greetings

Here is the problem...

I have Oblivion with the Shivering Isles and it works perfectly, I also have many mods, some are installed using obmm and some are installed the traditional way. Everything works just fine, using my windows user profile.

If I try to run Oblivion from another profile the ingame main menu will load but I will not be able to play. (I will press "new game" it will begin loading, then it will cut out with an error message, telling me oblivion stopped working) I'm running a Windows 7 64bit computer.

If I look at the data files while logged in as the non-functional user (using the Oblivion startup screen) the mods that have been installed using obmm come up as "(Invaled File)" instead of data file.

Does anyone know what is going on, and how to fix it?

My guess is it's some of those pesky Windows Registry entries that are created when you first install the game. They tell the game where to look for certain things. And some of those things can vary based on the user.

I'm not sure why you would want to play the same game as two different users. If you need to change to a different user permanently, you may have to reinstall as the new user and forget about the old one.

Here is a link to my complete uninstall/reinstall procedure located in the WIKI section of the Nexus

http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Oblivion_reinstall_procedure

It allows you to preserve any saves and mods, or remove them completely - your choice.

OR, if you want to be able to play two separate copies of the game - with diferent mods, different ini settings etc. Try this. mTES4Manager http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35263

It allows multiple games with each one having a different Player Character, different set of mods, different saves etc.
