Well, as anyone who has played Oblivion can say, the ending to the Hackdirt quest was a bit of a disappointment.

Where were the deep ones?

I didn't see a single ghoul, d'hole, night-gaunt, creepy faun-demon-person-thing.

No rubbery amorphous freaks from the dark side of the moon. No subterranean horse-headed birds, nothing.

Ripoff.

So, in an effort to remedy this, I am looking for Cthulhean beast to use in a deeper Hackdirt mod.

Due to my lack of re-texturing or working with meshes prowess, I need to use other people's creations.

Like some sort of intellectual leech...

So, if anyone can help me here, it is you crazy kids.

Hail Nodens.

Don't bother, I suggested a Lovecraft mod about six months ago. I was met with a stern no. However much I love Lovecraft, I know that people only make mods under two circumstances: interest and money. If the modder has the interest, or you have the money, then it will get made. Aside from that, no.

Also, Hackdirt, although the most obvious, isn't the only Lovecraftian reference. Mehrunes Dagon obviously took his name from Father Dagon. Hermaeus Mora is similar to Yog-Sothoth in the sense that his knowledge transcends time. Also, for the real Lovecraft fanatic, in the book The Watchers Out of Time, the twelfth story is entitled "The Dark Brotherhood." Just a few facts from one Lovecraftian fan to another. ;)

The problem comes down to making the meshes and the animations for those meshes. Both require significant knowledge, skill, and an excessive amount of time. While the number of people who can do that sort of thing is larger than it was 1 year ago, most are tied to their own projects, and are not members of this forum.

Honestly, I was beating my head against a wall trying to figure out how to make new animations work for new creature skeletons, and there isn't a single soul around here that could do more than link the wiki post or that one upload with the circle kick animation. As big of a community as we have here, with most of that special stuff, you're really stuck with either trying to find someone who already did something similar and asking them (only if they accept requests), or learning to do it yourself (only asking them when you hit a wall that takes longer than 20 hours and reading the same entry more than 5 times).
