ammit
As we are getting closer and closer to release im diving deeper and deeper in to the lore. And avter having spent hours on the elderscrolls wiki, reading abaout history, aedra and deadra i came across the Thu'um. http://elderscrolls....m/wiki/Thu%27um Supposedly Kyne instructetd the nords in the voice. my interpertation of the voice is that it is a form of energized kiai. And there we have a system of shouts, powerwords etc, But there is another lovel of the voice, that of the dragon language. The ones posessing a soul of a dragon can power their voice with the language. So in all sense, if you are the only dragonborn since the Septims, then all other shouters in skyrim shuld be useing Tu'um. But i don't think there are seperate systems for Tu'um and Dragonshuts in-game. (something for modding in the futre maybe) What do you think? Concerning some Leaked footage If anyone has seen the leaked footage of the first 20 minute,s there is a reference to someone having the power of the voice. before the dragons appear
VoraNoxstella
They are one in the same. Thu'um is the name for the Dragonshouts. (Think of "dragonshout" as slang)
ammit
My interpretation is yes and no. The power of the voice is both dragonshouts and "regular" shouts, A Dovahkiin being able to use draconic powerwods instead of nordic.
Vagrant0
You're kinda right. There was mentioned that the player would eventually have to travel to some remote location, something involving many steps, to meet with people who are familiar with these power-words. It is likely from there that the player learns to make use of dragonshouts and the real adventure really starts. Kinda like where the Player has to travel to find Martin in Oblivion and it kinda starts everything with the main quest. Heading to some remote region to get the main quest kicked off is kinda normal for TES games (And FO3) since it allows the player to kinda branch off anywhere along the way. It's safe to assume that the same thing would be present in Skyrim.
