Aegrus
This is terrible. I ordered a gaming pc online, partly to play Skyrim, partly because my ps3 is old tech now and won't run most newer games as well as a pc can. My pc should be capable of running Skyrim on high settings at a framerate of 40, and far higher when I uprgrade the graphics card. But I have a problem. Skyrim releases in a few days, and I have no spare cash and no monitor. :wallbash: Anyone know where I can get a good deal on a monitor? Skevitj
Depending on your TV you could just use that till you have the cash.

chikawowwow
What TV and GPU do you have? Most TVs will have at least a VGA or DVI-D port, modern ones have a HDMI.
bben46
Most newer TVs have an HDMI input - Most Video cards that are older than a year or two do not have HDMI, but do have DVI output. A DVI to HDMI adapter is fairly inexpensive as long as you don't try to buy it from retailers like Best Buy who mark that kind of stuff up something like 500%. One difference between DVI and HDMI (besides the completely different connectors ) is HDMI can carry audio while DVI does not - Most video cards do not output audio anyway so this is not a big deal. - You would need a special adapter box (more $) to add the audio to the cable - I actually do this, but as I run my A/V from the computer to my large screen wall mounted TV AND my 5.1 Stereo system it saves me a second long wire just for audio. (Details on request) I found an adapter on line at Monoprice.com for less than US$3.00. (Best Buy Retailer price about US$25) If you are not in the US, There will probably be a similar on line discounter. First find what the output ftom your video card is HDMI, DVI or VGA. Then find what the input (or inputs) to your TV are, VGA, HDMI, DVI, SVGA, Composite. - There are similar adapters for all of these. Be sure to check on whether you need male or female ends and on which end of each adapter You may also need a cable. First decide what you will need, If you use the adapter at the Video card end - for instance DVI to HDMI you will need a HDMI cable. Or, if you use the adapter at the TV end, you may need a DVI cable. HDMI cables at retail are ridiculous. I got a 25 foot HDMI cable for less than US$18 on line - a similar cable 12 foot (half the length) from the retailer (Best Buy) costs US$25 If your TV is old enough where it's only input is a cable (F-Type) input - It may be more difficult to find the proper adapter or use multiple adapters
