Hi to all You People

I'm another newbie and i joined this site so I can contribute something for a change. Instead of just downloading all the time.

I've extracted the Lich Helm from Oblivion, moded it with Blender and Nif Scope so i can use it.

Now i'd like to upload it for anybody else to use, however I don't know if I'm breaking any Copyright

Laws by doing so. As the Helm belongs to the game and whoever designed the Lich!

Ps. What in the World is a Fishystick

I'm unsure about the copyright issue, however I can help you as to the fishystick.

This is an obscure reference to a Morrowind Easter Egg, which is a book that is too smeared with FishyStick sauce to read, it contains the information about to guy you see holding the fishystick in the Newbie welcomes, if I'm not mistaken.

More information on this and other Easter Eggs can be found at the UESP,

Cris.

If you are referring to the helm worn by a Lich in vanilla Oblivion I cannot believe their is any copywrite issue. The whole construction set is available for modding and indeed you could have created your own helm copying the design. If however you have taken the helm from a mod then you should obtain permission from the original modder (usually a formality).

And welcome to the forums.

Actually, the fishy stick came before Morrowind.

Background

The fishy stick phenomenon began when Captain Eldrad joined the Official Forums on January 18, 2001. In the beginning, fishy sticks were only given to those who truly deserved the honor, by Captain Eldrad himself. Later, his friend Soursha gave them away to new members. Eventually, it became customary to give fishy sticks to the newcomers of the forum. The Bethesda developers were very amused by all of this, and they added tributes to the fishy stick in both Morrowind and Oblivion.

Present Day

Even though Captain Eldrad and Soursha rarely visit the forums, the fishy stick continues to live on. To this day, newcomers of the Official Forums are given fishy sticks by the more experienced members of the forum. Some say that being given a fishy stick is part of the initiation of becoming a regular member. Others dismiss it, saying that it is simply a fad that will go away in time. Whatever the case may be, the fishy stick will continue to stay in our hearts for years to come.

In-Game References

There are a couple of references to the fishy stick in the Elder Scrolls video game series:

Morrowind

A tribute to the fishy stick can also be found in Morrowind in the form of a book called Capn's Guide to the Fishy Stick. It says that the book is supposed to be the definitive reference to fishy sticks throughout Tamriel, but unfortunately the pages are so smeared with fishy stick sauce that it is impossible to read any of them.

Oblivion

One of the quotes from M'aiq the Liar in Oblivion is "M'aiq wishes he had a stick made out of fishies to give to you. Sadly, he does not."

Now that you know about fishy sticks:

Thank You for your wellcomes and help, fishysticks and advice! No, I grabed the Helmet from the Lich with Blender, Nifscope, Photoshop, lots and lots of help from the tutorials on modding and endless hours of patience, tantrums etc.

The Helmet Mesh had to be extensibly modded to be able to use it in the game, and Nifscope gave me Nightmares. So ill pack it all in a zip and upload it.

That attachment on the bottom of this editing screen, is for uploading pictures I assume. Or is that also where I can attach the zip ?

Hey! That's my fishystick! You stole it! How dare you!? You know full well I'm the one who gives out fishysticks!

Anyway, Wolf2, welcome to the forums, have fun, don't spam, and you already have your complimentary fishystick... >:(

:P

The transparent version is yours? Explain, please.

It is not my Helm or Design! I just made the Helm untransparent. Removed the Lich.

Then I had to convert it from being an unusable object to a usable one.

But all of that is not that easy, as that Helmet is part of the NPC character not an Object like a sword

or a piece of clothing. As You know when you kill a Lich the only thing it drops is a staff.

You have to modify the Mesh and then attach it somehow to another helm in Nif Scope to be able to use it in the game. I also had to redo the dds files even so it still uses the original textures.

Ps. It may be easy for an experienced modder. However this is my first attempt at changing anything in 3D

But thank You for Your feedback. As I do not wish to do anything that is NOT considered to be ethical or legal in modding.
