I meant he nicked it from my secret stash of fishysticks I keep for greeting newbies. I know you made it originally :)

Sorry My missunderstake. It was just a case of: If the cap fits, wear it.

Hi to all You People

I'm another newbie and i joined this site so I can contribute something for a change. Instead of just downloading all the time.

I've extracted the Lich Helm from Oblivion, moded it with Blender and Nif Scope so i can use it.

Now i'd like to upload it for anybody else to use, however I don't know if I'm breaking any Copyright

Laws by doing so. As the Helm belongs to the game and whoever designed the Lich!

Ps. What in the World is a Fishystick

The copyright issue is a tricky one. The documentation provided by BethSoft states that you can only make a back up copy of the game disc for your own personal use and that any of the content may not be reproduced or redistributed under penalty of law. Then the same company turns around and provides a construction set so you can make your own content. (?)

I believe the acceptable norm is it is okay to make your own content and share it as long as you are NOT charging money for it. Nexus is driven by player-made content and Bethsoft advertises here. I think it is safe to assume that you can upload your work here.

That doesn't affect or void their copyright. Bethesda still owns copyright on all of their own content. They can give or withhold permission to distribute any such content at any time, and I suspect that there will be some small print somewhere that states that they own copyright on anything made with the CS. Valve software have something similar in their terms & conditions for their CS, if I remember correctly.

Here's the link to the US Copyright gov't website (worth reading to dispel internet myths)...

EDIT: Basically all of this stuff we do with mods and so forth is with Bethsoft's permission, which they could withdraw any time if they were so disposed. I imagine they would only get legally heavy about copyright infringement if someone produced stuff that would run without the game being installed, though, and most especially if it were being sold rather than given free..
