Hi

In all the gameplay videos with combat in, it apears that weapons now do significantly more damage in skyrim, than say oblivion- where a fight would generally be me standing right infront of the enemy, hammering the left mouse button!

With a one handed sword, 3 hits and the enemy is down, with a claymore or other 2 hander, it seems 1 shots are a common ocurance (all this footage was of a lvl 2 in bleak fall's barrow)

I'm pretty exited about this, as I like being able to fell people in just a couple of hits (archery looks really fun!)

yes it does seem that everything is more powerfull, spells too... which is good, it's just more fun, shooting 10 arrows in a goblin's head and he's stil living... blargh....

I thought all the game play footage was supposed to have characters that were deliberately pumped up to make them stronger. It would make sense though if they made combat encounters more numerous though. Instead of swinging your sword six times into one enemy, you swing it six times against four.

I think it was like that in footage videos.

No, I'v seen some leaked footage of a guy playing from 1 (the `4 hour` one... i skipped all the potential spoilers, and just watched the bleak fall's barrow run- and he was happily chopping away with a clay more at level 2, felling enemy's in one or 2 hits, when he `sniped` the bandit near the entrance, that took 2 shots though, wit ha 2x damage multiplier (the enemy had about 10% health remaining)

That's good. Now hopefully, player health is lower to compensate for that. In Oblivion right now, I have some realism mods downloaded- both I and most enemies die in 2-4 hits. It plays really fast. Gameplay is frantic. It actually feels pretty realistic and exciting, knowing that I could die at any time.

Yeah, with FPS games I always end up modding them so that a double tap to center mass with a pistol will kill an enemy, and myself.

Really gets your reactions up!

(Great fun in the rainbow six games!)

Might end up doing something similar with Skyrim!

(And of course something to make every hit decapitate, and 1000% more blood, for feces and giggles. )
