Shmoodle
I just had a topic closed on me - my apologies - I hadn't realized asking about Steam was a taboo subject; I haven't been a board follower. I've just bought/downloaded the game - haven't played it of course - given it's not available for play but did install the Steam engine, and entered my serial number. Can I give that serial number to my spouse for him to use through his Steam account even though it's connected to my login? I'll just find another diversion. But threads are getting shut down because the last thing we need is one more topic about Steam, posting in the Info Thread or searching for a topic does the job. But this topic is okay. ;) Sorry I don't know the answer.

If you've registered that serial to your Steam account then that's the only one that it's viable on.
tylitalo
For you both to play at once, you'll need to use two Steam accounts and buy two copies of Skyrim - One for each.
Handofbane
A serial attached to an account cannot be transferred to another account, though if it is the only game on that account, you might be able to ask Steam to merge the two accounts together into one - effectively removing your account from existence while the game is set onto your spouse's. You may need to fib a little and say it was an accident being added to the wrong account in the first place, though. Worst they can do is say "no". Shmoodle
Thanks for the input all - I bought the copy from direct2drive - I just looked, Steam being a requirement is the last on the list of requirements. I'll wait til launch day, see if I can bypass using the Steam engine and if not I'll just uninstall and consider the 50 bucks my contribution to the economy. Live and learn. Your best bet at this point would be to contact Valve to ask if they'd consider transferring your copy of Skyrim to your husband's Steam account if you do not intend to play it yourself. That is, if you've already registered the key to your own account.
James009
Jeeze, this is obviously a question to be asked on the steam forums... oh wait. /sarcasm I think if the accounts are linked, they share it? Otherwise, like tylitalo said, contact STEAM and see if they can transfer it.
