Quintessential mods

Hey! I just decided to get myself Oblivion GotY Edition on PC. Then I remembered how cumbersome PC gaming can be. I was wondering what were the mods I needed.

Disclaimers:

I only want convenience and visual mods. I don't want to change the overall experience of the game.

My computer is beefy enough to handle most graphic overhaul mods.

I'm going to be playing with a controller. So no mouse & keyboard only UI mods.

Thanks in advanced! :3

Check out Oblivion's top files:

Personal recommendations:

- get Arthmoor's Unofficial Patches (basic quality of life essentials)

- nuska's Oblivion Character Overhaul series (makes the characters look not awful, note that some versions will require OBSE)

- for weather or graphical mods, try All Natural (requires OBSE) or Natural Environments (less flashy but comes with more bits and pieces for greater customization), or Oblivion Reloaded (also requires OBSE)

- also check out ENBs if your computer is tough

- Discovery1's collection of flora overhaul and weather mods, which are all gorgeous

- my own stuff because shameless self-promotion

That's funny. If you fell it's cumbersome, just do not use any mod.

Anyhow, here my suggestion of graphical and convenience mods.

Convenience

First of all, install this mod. It's a small file and small .ini edit. But it allows to forget about all the bsa invalidation nonsense.

And quite important change this line in your .ini file.

bLocalMapShader=0
It makes the local map much better. In my opinion of course, revert to 1 if you don't like the change.
You mentioned you do not want to change the overall experience. However I (and many other) think the level scaling is quite bad AS IS. If you want to keep the experience, but have it much better implemented I suggest you to use:
It keeps the level scaling, but in pleasant way. And it's easy to install too, just copy few directories content.
