aragaun
I also loved the Trade and Commerce mod in Oblivion. I would be great to see it come to Skyrim.
ThomasQ
I didn't check out your Oblivion mod, so forgive me if it's already in there, but I had an idea: Being able to buy shops / stalls and generate a profit from them. Setting product prices higher and lower impacts the local economy.. Same for buying / subletting houses.. Basicly it's just the Fable 2 system :P
Bearget
First off: the original Trade and Commerce mod is amazing. I'm sure whatever you put out for Skyrim will be amazing too. One recommendation: taking an idea from this thread, maybe you should alter the chance-of-selling percentages so extremely valuable items (probably everything in the Legendary, Mythic, and Epic categories in your original system) will never be bought, or at least will only be bought very rarely. As is, even a 5% chance of selling is pretty high. I much prefer the idea suggested in the other thread, that items so valuable should require the player (or, if you want, a hired underling) to seek out rich collectors who have the money and interest to buy. dkdy23
Are you planning on modding for Skyrim? something similar to Run the Lucky 38 for Skyrim would be awesome Yup I'm amped to mod for Skyrim. Truth be told, I'm more anxious to start my mod for Skyrim than actually play it! My mod will be something similar to my Run the Lucky 38 but to tell the truth since it was my first mod it wasn't as fleshed out as it could be. I started off small with it, and eventually piled on extra features - expanding it. The end result was a massive mod that would give you many hours of playing time, but it was a little messy :ermm: I've learned a lot so I have no doubt I'll be better prepared for my Skyrim mod  I was going to start with a small business and try to make it intricate, and release it as a beta when it was finished. I was going to use the same format for each business. Run the Lucky 38 wasn't very dialogue oriented, nor quest oriented. It was more intuitive - but I could use terminals and robots for a lot of my purposes. No terminals nor robots in Skyrim  So instead I'm opting to spend a little more time to make it a flowing immersive quest with dialogue and a story. I'm pretty excited to see what modders come up with, the number of modders for Skyrim is going to dwarf the Fallout series, I'm betting. I like both your ideas! How about a little collaboration between you to make one SIC mod? Can't wait to play them!
hikarikami
Just had a quick look through the Oblivion version of your MOD and it looks great! I haven't tried it personally, but I really like the idea of these more left-field MODS that add something a little different than your standard quest/texture pack mods. Definetly keeping my eye out! As for some suggestions, well I'd love to see some more inspiration taken from various tycoon games and such! I'm sure you have plenty of ideas already, but some things that spring to mind: Random events. For example, a slight chance of your store being Robbed and items stolen. The chance would be reduced depending on upgrades/security. Or maybe a storm would damage your shops fixtures and upgrades, and you have to hire a repairman in order to fix this.Different shopkeeprs for hire - Different NPC's bring a different bonus to your store, say an Alchemist would provide higher sale prices from Potions. Wages would be different based on their ability.Artifact requests - Requests for specific items could be put in by customers. These might show up as letters being left in your store asking for items. Putting requested item in the safe for sale would then sell instantly at a very tidy profit.Adjustable prices in-game. So if you set rare items to a lower price, they have a higher chance of selling. Of course the opposite is also true, though advertising or hiring the Town Crier would be able to off-set this chance. Anyway as I said, I haven't played your Oblivion mod and I have no idea what's possible. Just some ideas! Good luck and I look forward to seeing the result of your work! ThomasQ
After fiddling around for an hour, I realized I couldn't do anything with the Bill of Sale for the Goldenglow Estate.. Made me think of this mod, and how much I want it! :D Owning meaderies, shops, farms, woodmills etc would be extatic!
Exousia001
Oh Estat, you most release a Trade and Commerce mod for Skyrim!! It's probably the most inventive thing there is. Think of the possibilities in this game! Examples: Trade Relations and Business with:LumbersAll variaties of OresAnimal HidesAnimal Meat!Cooked Foods!Merchants Around CitiesGuilds So much possibilities that Oblivion didn't have! Axisdeath
This is some what out there from anything in your previous mod, but what if you did set up caravans that would travel from hold to hold, maybe just 9 scripted caravans that could just glow continuously around skyrim, and when they got to a new holds stables they would stay there for an hour, and then go to another. The player could be hired to protect the caravans, and when ever it got to a new hold you would get a certain amount of coin based on how far you went and how many enemies you killed along the way. At the same time, the player could kill everyone guarding the caravan and take the loot in a single chest in the back of the cart. If this happens, then perhaps after seven in game days a new one would spawn to take the place of the old one?
