DirectX 10?

Tesselation seems to be interesting, but i'd prefer a good overhaul and implementation of parallax mapping first. From the previews I didn't notice POM. It would be a really good improvement in terms of graphical realism and I don't really get why they did not implement it!

I'll do some tests by myself as soon as I can.

Well, wouldn't mind if someone could use it for hair, wind, or clothes movement.

Yes, even if a dx11 overhaul does come out I'm sure it would take quite some time unfortunately. But I for one would really really like to see it. Some out the shader mods and texture packs for New Vegas already turned it into a whole nother' game on my pc. Looks great, except for the bushes and trees. But yeah, I want to make full use of my computer.

Same here, actually getting a new rigg. Not for this game only, just to update it. It's going to cost me 2,000 dollars with everything monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. So, wish to get as much out of the game as possible on that system. Probably could run medium/high with this computer I have here.

It won't use DX10 or DX11 features, which is quite sad.

But since that functionality is there, I'd say probably 1-3 months before there's a huge graphical overhaul that adds tessellation and many other graphic wonders.

True, but not sure what the folder is all about then.

Could you make a screenshot of the data-folder? :)

You know you can preload it yourself, if you have it on Steam. Not sure if you do.

Interesting to see that the voice bsa file is 1.3 GB while the Oblivion ones were 1.66 GB together, and Fallout 3's 1.72 GB. Looks like they managed to compress it better, as I doubt we'll have less voice acting.

Also there's an update.esp (or esm, can't see) , which I assume is what they'll be using for those quick updates they promised. Better than having to download the whole 240 MB Skyrim.esm for every patch! :P

Yes, I believe they mentioned they found a way to compress the game even better.

Problem is, POM will always be glitchy, and it'll have a much larger impact on performance than tessellation (unless you make almost everything tessellated, a la Crysis 2 or Metro 2033... What a waste of performance -_-)

Don't expect anything of that caliber when most companies are churning out console ports designed for generations old hardware.
