FWE-FOOK2 Current Compatibility

Hello guys,I just found this FOOK2-FWE Merger Fix

Does it update the outdated merger and allow fwe 6.03a and FOOK 2 1.2 to be played together? Otherwise,why can't I use the "new version" of the fook-fwe merger with the latest versions of fook2 and fwe?Just because it was not made for those versions?

 

I don't know why but I think that currently fallout 3 has way more compatible mods than FO:NV.

 

Also,instead of using FWE,could I use XFO+FOOK2?

Don't use that merge with those versions of FOOK2 and FWE. It will cause your game to hang upon start up.

 

Currently, I am working on a FOOK2-ized FWE and FWEed Fook2. I'm calling it "FWEEK". I'm maybe half done. There are a lot of niggling little bits and bobs that need to be addressed. Both mods do a lot of the same things in slightly different ways that clash unbelieveably. Like the Grenades throw hotkey, or how both mods add FN-FALs with differing stats. All of these issues can be addressed, but nobody has done so for these versions of the two mods due to how many issues there are to be addressed.

 

They're just scared.

 

I'm on it, it'll be released by next month, if I'm lucky.

I don't know about XFO-FOOK2. But the issues will probably be similar. You're never going to find two overhauls that "just work" together, because the people who make overhauls aren't interested in what other people have overhauled already... they just want to make a one-stop-shop for everything modding.

Any progress on this? I'm extremely interested. FONV has been a letdown so far..none of the mods or overhauls I've tried come anywhere near to balancing it or even making it that interesting. As the OP said, FO3 had a lot more mods and they just seem "better" - more complete, more immersive, etc. FONV feels like an addon, not a standalone game. If you need encouragement to complete FWEEK, well, you definitely have mine :)

The only "progress" is that the project got scrapped. I had many thousands of records to attempt to make the two files truly mesh correctly, months of work, and it still didn't work right. Honestly it seems like I made the situation worse in some ways, deffinitely more crashy.

 

I'm not saying it can't be done. I am saying I'm not the one that will do it.
