Oddbrother
Okay, I've seen a LOT of no main quest mods, and they're all fine and dandy and what-not. But how about this, why don't we say that you're already done with the main quest? Uriel and Martin and the Amulet of Kings are gone, and you're already the Champion of Cyrodiil? It really wipes away the patience of having to scrape that annoying quest log off of your list so you can get on with your life. Also, this time, could this storyline come around smoothly so that you can get your Imperial Dragon Armor, and that Kvatch is already safe, and Mankar Camoran is dead, and that no Oblivion gates exist anymore, and that you can't go back to paradise, etc.? Because from what I've seen of today's "No Main Quest" mods. These haven't happened. :wallbash:
Malchik
I assume you are talking of mods that say you are already Champion from the beginning without the need to play the main quest. I don't mod, so perhaps what I am about to say is nonsense, but it seems to me that as you can close quests via the console it should be possible to make a mod in which they were closed before the mod starts. If no one has done so it could be that they see the mod as being an alternative (i.e. that you can still do the main quest if you choose to) or that it is not as straightforward as it sounds. I'll defer to expert opinion on that. But surely the only thing that might still be in the game is the siege of Kvatch. Oblivion gates, paradise etc. aren't accessible anyway unless you actually start the main quest and you can add the dragon armour yourself if it is important. You could also try using a console command to show the main quest as completed. This should clear the journal for you if that's what is bugging you. But, as I said, I may be talking nonsense. Vagrant0
The biggest problem with such a mod is that the placements of some NPCs and things get changed over the course of the game. It would be odd to have the main quest completed, but still able to walk into kvatch to see it still under siege, or be able to pick up the welkynd stone, or any of that stuff. I wouldn't be a matter of just completing the quests, it would be a matter of also making changes to the world that would be present when the main quest has been done. This of course means that there is a liklyhood for more complications in making it all work. It's really easier to just find a save game without any mods, that has the main quest completed, redefine the character, and just start from there.
