GravCat
This may have been old, but here's the link to article.. http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/718221/todd-howard-says-you-can-play-skyrim-forever-a-massive-game-with-infinite-quests/ So apparently Radiant Story makes an infinite amount of quests? How does that work?

superjeno
"no" is pretty much the most useless answer i've seen all week O.oI think infinite is a big word, but yeah i think you'll have quests for ages and ages :-)and how it works is explained in that article ;-) Edited November 9, 2011 by superjeno
ShadowscaleB1980
according to Todd Howard the quests are done dynamically, meaning that there are several components that make up the quest that are not necessarily fixed - who gives you the quest, the dungeons involved, the types of creatures you will face - and their level, and the reward you will obtain from completing the quest. the main quest took speed runners about 2 hours to complete, in oblivion the main quest was completed in less than an hour, I suspect that Bethesda has put in more work with the main and the secondary quests - so you will have more to do in Skyrim. SavageNights
This quote concerns me: feature a never-ending stream of procedurally generated content, giving players an infinite number of things to do. I am concerned for how generic the quests might be and therefore how tedious. You usually have a trade-off with this things.

You usually have a trade-off with this things.Well, it's obviously not going to have a hand-crafted feel if it's procedurally generated...but, I'm encouraged by two things: 1) The quests come from the guilds as well as random NPC's, and 2) the job you get will vary based on which skills you've focused on. That should at least keep them from being annoying or tedious.

I've thought about that and it doesn't strike me as particularly troubling. All of the written content (the guilds, the main story, etc.) will keep us occupied for a while - then add in DLC expansions which is sure to come in I'm guessing at least 2 installments over the first 12 months... and the modding community. Sure, the occassional procedurally generated will pop up, but it's just to keep things moving between massive expansions.
