Alright, so as the title suggests I have long (20seconds) quicksaving times, the normal saves and auto saves are strangelly alright. And yes, this is a new game.

When Google searching this problem, this thread comes up pretty high in the search. The one thing the problem has in common is XPMSE, and for me it started when that was installed. Looking at my save history, regular saves remain about the same at 10-12 kb but SKSE saves jumped from 7 kb to over 400 kb, right after the mod was installed. As some posts recommended I created a SKSE.ini file in the Skyrim->Data->SKSE folder, and cut and paste:

[General]

ClearInvalidRegistrations=1

...then boot into Skyrim through SKSE. I quick saved, and the SKSE save was smaller by about 100 kb, but was still nowhere close to 7 kb and the quicksave time was still very long.

I'll give this solution more time... play some more and do some more quicksaves. Other than than, I haven't seen any other fixes at this point other than to go back to a save which predates XPMSE, and live without it. Fortunately, I don't have to go back far, since the problem began quickly after XPMSE was installed.
