sephirothdomain
ive gone through beginner mod topics but cant find what i am looking for . first off i downloaded the construction kit for oblivion but the mods didnt show up at all so i looked up troubleshooting and it said to install the directory in a different folder , ignorantly little did i know i had to go to data files and click on the mods themselves (stupid ) i know . but now that i clicked them the certain mods i have downloaded like mansions and companions they dont show up still and i have no idea where the mansions would be to check and see if they are . could this be because i installed in a different directory and just screwed everything up ? i also have no idea if im putting the mods meshes and textures in the right place . listen i know its a pain in the ass to right up exact instructions for a newbie but im a pro at everything else computer but this modding stuff i am completely new at and i know the abuse people like to unleash on people making stupid mistakes but help me out guys :) appreciate the time to read this i really want to take advantage of the modding site . Keirgarth
A little bit of information would be helpful :) Where did you end up installing the game? What mods did you install and what is their load order? As for finding the mansion, take a look, there should be a readme file that explains how to install it, where you will find it and what you will have to do to become the owner of it. If you don't see it there, take a look at where you downloaded the mansion and see if there is a description there that explains these things. Harvald
sounds like a windows 7 problem. Are you using windows 7 and have installed the game in default directory. no good. Install in C\games\oblivion and try again Good luck Harvald

First, it's okay to ask a newbie questions being a bit of newbie myself. Everyone started as a newbie at some point so don't worry about bothering any of us. :) Also we are here to help each other out whenever possible. Now back to your problem, your meshes and textures folders go into data directory of the game's main directory. :excl: If you don't have a data directory either you have to make one but be sure it's inside the main directory of oblivion. Also this is important.... make sure you're not installing the game in the default directory which is C:\programs (x86) if your OS is Windows 7.  :wallbash: This probably applies to other versions of Windows also. Anyways, if you haven't done already... download a mod managing program such as Wrye Bash (This is one heck of program but mostly for advanced users) and/or OBMM (Oblivion Mod Manager).  If you still have problems check out this website: http://tescosi.com/wiki/Main_Page for more detailed information. Feel free to ask more if you still have questions though we are here to assist.
