onelifecrisis
Hi all, I'm posting this on the off-chance that someone with a bit of technical know-how can help. I installed the "Chameleon No Refraction" mod and it disabled the chameleon graphical effect - now I just turn semi-transparent instead. That's exactly what the mod is supposed to do. However it also seems to have disabled some other effects, so I uninstalled the mod by going into "data files" and unchecking it. Unfortunately that didn't work - I'm still semi-transparent instead of Predatorish. I tried deleting the mod from my HD. No joy. I even completely uninstalled and re-installed Obilvion and I STILL have this transparency thing going on, and some missing GFX. My assumption is that my saved games, which I didn't delete, have somehow "stored" the mod effect. Is there any way to get things back to normal apart from starting a new character from scratch? Yours hopefully,OLC

Yours hopefully,OLCWhen you uninstalled, and reinstalled, did you clear out your data folder? It might be due to a texture or something installed by that mod which causes the change, in addition to some CS settings. If you have a non-OMOD version of the mod, you could probably just re-download it to see what files are included in the mod along with the .esp. To my knowledge shader settings aren't stored in savegame data. It is likely either a file in your data folder, or you still having a mod which creates this effect being active. TheTerminator2004
Does Oblivion delete the Oblivion.ini file when it's uninstalled? If not, try opening it (My Documents/My Games/Oblivion, in case you didn't know) and looking for something like 'buserefractionshader=' (no quotes). If it's set to 0, you need to set it to 1, and that should fix it.
