Whichever you pick, I can't imagine a player character that runs off with the imperial instead of Ralof during the tutorial. Hmm... should I go with the guy who was a fellow prisoner but doesn't seem to be a petty criminal, or with the guy who said "Sorry we have to chop your head off." Anyone who picks imperial THERE is brain dead. I'm a little stunned it's even an option in the game. You'd have to be retarded.

think of it this way should i go with the wise jailed f***er or the guy who was trying to save you and not himself in the process

I go for the Legion cause

during main quest you can aquire Ulfric dossier in Talmer embassy. It says they let him out on purpose so he could start rebellion and weaken empire.

I will not allow Thalmor to have it their way!

Ye, although even illogical at first i too would go with the legion. Funny thing is though, nothing stands in the two wikias that i visit about the documents u find.

Yes, it was unhelpful. Not all empires are evil, although there may be shameful acts in any long enduring empire, however benign the overall regime. The Empire in Skyrim very much resembles the Roman and even the later British empire in that. The Pax Romana and the Pax Britannica brought much benefit, and were certainly not evil, but that is not to say that there was no wrongdoing. No powerful nation or Empire can ever do everything right by everybody.

I tend to agree that the Empire resembles the late Roman Empire about the time they were making deals with the Vandals in order to stay in power, not the high ideals of the Republic or even the glory days of Pax Augustus but rather like the year of the four Emperors. But if one lived in that time period wouldn't even a badly functioning civilization be better than decent to barbarism? What followed was not pretty nor did it benefit the poor peasant who was left with warlords like Ulfric as their only succor. Having avoided making any move for either side for as long as possible, am reluctantly siding with the Legion but not the Blades.

Following Hadvar wouldn't be retarded if you notice him saying "If you want to stay alive", specially when it's the first time you're playing the game and have no idea what's going on.

I personally like Stormcloaks more than the Empire. Though, in the game, even if you help Ulfric win the war, nothing really happens, all what makes me dislike the Empire is that they're allied with the Thalmor and they've banned Talos'. To do so, they actually prison every Talos worshippers, but after completing the war with the Empire, G. Tullius says that he's not sure about the Thalmor, which means he's probably going to do something about them, anyway, Thalmors hold themselves into the Northwatch Keep and in the Thalmor Embassy, you can pretty much make them hate you and destroy them. So to speak, even if you help Ulfric, Thalmors don't disappear and they just keep talking about building a temple to that crazy priest that keeps speaking, in Whiterun, but it never happens of course, I sided with the Empire in my last account to be honest, at least G. Tullius wants peace not to claim a throne for himself.

I like the idea of joining the imperials and becoming the high king.

One thing that wasnt mentioned was the blades. In the city of Balmora of Morrowind you learn that the blades only served the true septum. They are kind of like the secret service and will stop at noting top protect their true king and the blood line. In skyrim we learned how the blades followed and were led by dragon born and now you lead them as the dragon born...

Hmmm, Does this mean something? Does this mean your lineage can be traced to a dragin born septum? Does that mean all the Septums could have potentially been dragon borns but never discovered their poweres because they were not needed?

Is it possible the Septum had a mistress? Ok, If you chose an Argonian or Kajit well, maybe the septum had a litle too much mead that night or maybe some was got wabab jacked into a hot babe! lol

Either way, your the DB and the blades follow you as your servants.

I still have not made a decision yet and im level 40... I cant make up my mind... I guess I will have to play the game through at least 2 times to see what happens...

I waited to make the decision until I was level 50 and all other relevant major quests were done, then l found that my Legion Quest line was bugged and would always stop just before the Fort Amul rescue mission. No matter what save I dropped back to in the legion quest line no dice, so I went back to a level 12 save before almost anything happened and was able to complete the Imperial conquest. It will be odd to quest throughout Skyrim with one of the central themes already resolved. since my character is an imperial I thought it appropriate to fall in line with the empire, next game I'm going Nord and with Ulfric. Maybe in a following game I'll pick one of the non aligned races and go for neither since all in all I found the Civil War a little too brief.

I have done both already. At first I joined the storm cloaks but prior to that I saved my game. The storms cloaks reward you with refined weapons and gifts. However the Imperials reward you with mediocre armor and gifts. I was so upset with the imperials that I played over joining the storm cloaks mission again just so I could kill General Tullius for the second time. The imperials are cheap bastards. I am level 81 so I had expected refined armor and gifts. I am so upset I think I am going to play it over again just so I can kill the cheap bastard for a third time.

Besides not to spoil the mood but the storm cloaks are more glorious at the end and even invite you to be apart of their victory speech. General Tullius just looks at you like a piece a crap. As for everyone using the storm cloaks racism as a means to joining the empire, You should speak to probably consider the fact that General Tullius is just as racist and he is also a slave driver.

If your justification is that the empire is stronger with having the imperials in charge you might want to also consider the fact that the Thalmors run freely and do as they like with the current treaty signed. All in hand nothing changes except the guards in the city. However I rest more freely that I have helped to free a nation from the slavery of the Empire. In conclusion I would rather live among racist people that only utter degrading words than to be bound by chains and whips from a slave driving empire.

I've Done Two Story lines to test how the Game will react on which, I chose to Ralof or to Hadvar.

When I Chose Ralof, with my Khajiit, You know, I still looted some Imperial stuff, and Got out of Helgen, Got to Riverwood, and Started My Adventure, Halfway to Ivarstead, I got sacked by some Imperials. Then the same event happened When I try to load, I think, 4 to 8 Minutes. But, When I Got In-Love with it's story line, I felt the Feeling that Fighting For Something, With Brutality and Epic Action.

I started a new game after Getting the Horn by those Greybeards and Made a New Khajiit.

This Time, I chose to try Hadvar's decision, I got Gold, and a Cool Armor, (Khajiit is nice with Stormcloak Cuirass.) And Got out of Helgen, And Started to Adventure after speaking to Alvor. (And Forged a Iron Dagger and Hide Helm.) I only got to some Stormcloaks, And They, Kinda Chased my @ss. But I got away, And Started some quests, And Then, Joined to the Imperials, Well, I got Money, Power, a awesome Axe, and Armor. It was okay, but I kinda took away the Chance for Freedom.

Verdict?

The Two Decisions were good, Their Factions have fun quests with them, You can be a High King if you joined the Imperials, But I had the MOST Fun with the Stormcloaks, Killing Imperials never been too fun. In a Serious note. If you chose Ralof to go with, You didn't made the wrong decision.(Well Of Course, Imperials will kill you sometime in the Game, but, meh, Be a Werewolf, and feed them.) The Empire in Skyrim is powerful, but who cares? Fus Ro Dah them anyway.

Stormcloaks, so far, the Best Faction in a TES Game, too.

Every time I hear General Tullius speak, I picture Colonel Tigh yelling about blowing Cylons out of airlocks. It's quite annoying after some time.

On the other hand, Ulfric Stormcloak has an air to him that just screams, "Do my bidding, you worthless whelp. I'm going to be here sitting funny and sipping my expensive water. Hmph."

Long live the Toast.
