Looksmenu Color Problem

Hello everyone,

 

Any time I try to change the color of my character's eye color in the looksmenu, both by starting a new game or showlooksmenu, the skin tone changes instead.

 

When I try to change the color of other things like cheeks, etc, it also changes the skin color instead. This started (seemingly randomly) today when I wanted to change my character's eye color ingame via showlooksmenu. When I created the character, the issue wasn't there. There were no changes to the data files or load order to the game after that save (I was satisfied with the setup and wanted to try a few levels of gameplay to check for any issues). I am using Mod Organizer 2, and as far as I can tell everything else is working well enough. I've run LOOT, and checked FO4Edit for conflicts but haven't been able to see anything related to "color" for looksmenu or anything like that. The game loads and runs very smoothly other than this one issue, and the only crashes I've had after a few hours of testing are from load order changes on existing saves.

 

I have tried things like restarting the game and my PC, changing around load order (especially the eye/cosmetic mods), trying new male and female characters, etc, but this problem persists.

TLDR; Whenever I try to change the color of anything in the looksmenu the skin color changes and not the color of the thing I'm trying to change.

 

I have tried looking for a solution to this issue on Google and here on the forums but I haven't found anything. So I'm either blind or just tired. Either way, I'm at my wit's end here!

 

Any thoughts on what is happening, and or how to solve this issue?

I'm having the same issue and I haven't found a solution yet. When Google'ing this, the only page I get is this one, so are we the only ones being affected by this bug?

Or does anyone of you have an answer already? :-)

I know this is a necro thread but nobody here has posted the answer.

 

This problem is caused by not launching with f04se.

 

Double check to make sure you've got the latest version, that it's installed correctly, and that you're launch the game using the correct exe.

 

If you don't know what f04se is, A) it's a script extender which is a requirement for many fallout 4 mods, and B) you should use your google fu to find out how to download, install, and operate it.

I know the Script Extender, I'm modding since Oblivion ;-)

I always start my game via ModManager/"launch F4SE" or directly by executing the f4se_loader.exe and it is the latest version - otherwise, the game would not start at all. So, unfortunately, that doesn't solve my problem :-(

this is the only way i have found to get around this issue....

 

disable LooksMenu Customization Compendium.esp

choose your eye color

re-enable LooksMenu Customization Compendium.esp

choose your skin collor.

Ran into this issue and found an easy fix.

Basically, just make sure your F4SE is up to date and then make sure to open it using the f4se_loader.exe.

That should immediately fix the issue.

This is what I did and it worked for me. after you're done with customizing your skin tone, do not hover over any of the other skin tones or you will have start over.

it's been a while, like 3 years and a half :laugh:

your Looksmenu version should match your F4ase version, and your F4se version should be exactly the one who match your game version (no older F4se mathing newer or viceverse), in order to solve this probleme, look for the correct Looksmenu version that i supose is the probleme
