I decided I would create a modded install, but a non-FCOM one. And to my surprise, it proves to be just as unstable - the game won't even start. Yes, I have all of the Deadly Reflex and Unnecessary Violence requirements installed, so I'm ruling that out. I'm not an expert in this matter but looking at your mod list, you have almost all of my mods too. I didn't experience crash yet after my 3rd fresh install? I think you are missing some patches that would come with Better Cities for your UL mods. Check the Better Cities archive to see if you overlooked something. You mentioned you're using BOSS also is that mean you are using the TES4Edit too? Make sure you clean the mods according to the BOSS and then get the compatibility patches. One last thing... if I remember correctly UV and Deadly Reflex were supposed to be loaded after the bashed patch. I could be wrong though so don't quote me on that one. Good luck. When you installed all of the current mods, did you test along the way after each mod to make sure the game was playable and stable or just install the batch of them and see if it starts? Oblivion is very picky about how things are done to mod the game. There are install orders that should be followed as well as load orders to get things to work right. I have installed FCOM and uFCOM several times and each time I wish to use that overhaul setup I pretty much end up reinstalling at least half a dozen times to get things to work right. You might be having the same issues. As for your current mod list, there isn't really much there. Better cities, the DLC stuff, DR and UL and an environment upgrade compilation. With your game not starting, we can rule out anything that starts with xul as those are pretty much texture replacers. Better Cities I have seen very little issues with, so for now I would rule that out. Of the other 2, DR6 and UL I have read several posts in the recent past that have me pretty much convinced to stay away from DR6 for a bit as it is hard to get it to work right and might be the culprit. Keirgarth Posted November 11, 2011 Share Posted November 11, 2011 It is always best to install only a single or maybe a couple of smaller mods at the same time then test. This will allow you to see negative changes quickly without having to go back through everything to see what made changes that were not working well with your install. It is also a good idea once you know a set of mods is working without issue to create a backup of the data folder just in case you install other mods later and they cause issues. This is one of the easier ways to get back to a game that is capable of running correctly. Also, once you have removed a mod, load a save and make a new save so you have a clean save without the mod.
