Thoreai
I guess this could be the reason why they never showed skyrim on pc at their presentations...ugh i might actually wait to play the game until some ui mod wont come out.
CaptainChaos
the point of buying a really expensive PC to play games is full on customability. What's the point of having this great keyboard and mouse with 100 buttons if it's a problem to use. Fortunately, between my Logitech mouse and Razer keyboard, usually I can custom assign keys and mouse buttons, through THEIR software to compensate for POOR DEVELOPER design. Developers, you rock creating this game, but you are still permitting consoles to ruin everything for the rest of us. Currently, I can't seem to reassign my arrow keys (which i use for movement) to double as A/D keys without screwing up the movement a bit. My keyboard let's them do double duty but not without noticeable lag. And, yes, mouse pointing is a bit off on the menus. Sigh.
Shattersky
It's not that different than what I had for Oblivion, but it's pretty painfully obvious that they made it with consoles as a priority (like shitstains).Luckily, most problems I have with it, including the lack of hotkeys (seriously what the f***?), will be fixed with mods. I'm about to buy this game in a couple hours, and I have to know one thing: Are you able to reassign the keybinds? Oh and the point of having a top of the line mouse and keyboard these days is so you can surf the internet like pro while all the development goes to console! ginnyfizz
What's wrong with using a gamepad, like the Xbox 360 controller for example? I used it for F3, F:NV and I used it with xpadder on Oblivion. Both keyboard and mouse and gamepad have their advantages. A mouse is incredibly accurate while a gamepad tends to be user friendly. If you abhore the controls so much, don't play. Or maybe just change the settings. The problem with that is that a lot of us already upgraded our PC's and have decent peripherals too. My G15 keyboard is getting on but it works just fine with ANY other game, for example, I played the demo of the soon to be released Lord of the Rings - War In The North - which requires a high end set up - with no isses. My G5 mouse was getting tired, so I got my hands on a Microsoft Sidewinder X8 which is like lightning and has proved superb with ANY other game. I also have physical reasons why I abhor the controls, my disability affects my hands which is one reason why I have never skimped on things like my keyboard and mouse - they need to be ergonomic and also fit for purpose. So far I have never had to admit defeat with an Elder Scrolls game because the controls have always been good for me. So I bought Skyrim, looking forward to being a part of the Skyrim community, and I can't play it unless a modder comes up with a UI mod. So don't be dismissive of people who don't like the controls. There are quite a number of people who have found them pretty dire, all for different reasons.
Aratoo
Hotkeys are there, highlight something in the Q menu and press a number key. Super sneaky implementation, though.
