Ingolfson
I hope you don't disagree with me posting this here, instead of the Expansion forums: I heard that the expansions (Tribunal, Bloodmoon) change some gameplay issues as well (journal, map). Which of them are changed? Do these changes affect the basic game as well? Also, do the expansions interact directly with the storyline/main world, or do they just add new areas? Thanks! Malchik
Since both expansions start in Morrowind there are new NPC's and scripts relating to the expansions in Morrowind . For Tribunal a new 'early morning call' is introduced in Morrowind until you actually start looking into it. There is a journal, very useful, that covers everything in Morrowind and well as the expansions and you can annotate the maps. However there is no interference with the quests in the game Morrowind itself. (This is on PC version I cannot comment on the others.)
Limorkil
Both expansions make the same gameplay changes, so it doesn't matter which one you buy first (although this is not true from a mod development point of view, but that is not relevant here). You get a difficulty slider so you can make the combat easier or harder to suit your preference. You can now see the health level of the enemy you are fighting, so you can see how close to death he/she/it is. You can click on the ingame map and add your own notes. (PC only, not Xbox) You can now see a list of unfinished quests in your journal. (PC only, not Xbox) The expansions also fix some gameplay bugs, which is particularly useful on Xbox seeing as you cannot download a patch. On Xbox, the expansions are only available through the Game of the Year edition. The expansions make very minor changes to the main world, mainly a few new NPCs that direct/transport you towards the expansion content. Almost all the new content is in new areas. Pack Rat
Adding the notes? Is that available with tribunal cause honestly i've nerver tried or even noticed...
Malchik
As Limorkil says it doesn't matter whether you have Trib or BM. Yes you can annotate the detailed map. I use it to mark the position of the individuals in the middle of nowhere who give you quests and then expect you to find them again and to indicate which tombs, caves etc. I have 'done'. And although the journal lists 'open' and 'completed' quests separately there are certain quests that can only be closed if you do them in a particular way. Which means they appear as open even though they have been completed. (A pain if you leave the game for a few days and can't remember exactly what you had done when you come back or if you are playing multiple games.) If this bothers you see my pinned note above the spoilers section.
Ingolfson
"For Tribunal a new 'early morning call' is introduced in Morrowind until you actually start looking into it. "What do you mean? I do not understand. I'd like to know something else about this: Bloodmoon adds a new large island right? Does Tribunal add any new places? Thanks for the help! Limorkil
'Early morning call' is an attempt to avoid posting spoilers. All it means, in non spoiler terms, is that the quest in Tribunal comes to you, rather than you having to go look for it. It is like when you start Morrowind with a new character: you are told where to go to start the main quest straight away, but it is up to you if and when you start it. Tribunal works the same way. With Tribunal, the quest starts the next time you go to a large town (e.g Balmora) and stay overnight there (I think you have to be level 3+). But even though the quest starts straight away, you can choose not to pursue it until you are ready. Bloodmoon is different in that the expansion adds a new island, but you are not automatically given a quest that involves going there. You can get such a quest if you look around on the main island, or you can just hop on a boat and go to the new island even though you do not have a quest. Once you get there, you can find new quests. The bottom line is that you can install either expansion or both expansions at any time without it spoiling your current ingame situation, without needing to restart a new character and without having to drop what you are doing and go do the new quests. It's worth installing at least on expansion as soon as you can, just to get the gameplay enhancments. The journal changes on the PC are really useful and even though the Xbox version does not have the journal changes, it's worth getting for the bug fixes and difficulty slider. EDIT: In answer to your second question, Tribunal adds a large city and dungeons. The city is not on the main island and does not conflict with any mods you might have, you have to get there by special means, about which you will learn when you start the expansion. loveme4whoiam
With Tribunal, the quest starts the next time you go to a large town (e.g Balmora) and stay overnight there (I think you have to be level 3+) Nope, it happened to me the first night i stayed there. I was fresh off the boat and everything. You get a difficulty slider so you can make the combat easier or harder to suit your preference. You can now see the health level of the enemy you are fighting, so you can see how close to death he/she/it is. These also come with the patches for basic MW. I'm not sure about the other ones - ive never tried to annotate the map.
DragoonFurey
One should note however that if you install bloodmoon and then tribunal you may encounter errors, however this is easily remided by re-installing and installing tribunal and then bloodmoon and will not invalidate your saved games. also if you activate tribunal and bloodmoon at the same time youll get a bunch of scripting errors dealing with dialog when you start up, I dont think these cause any problems but its anoying, so enable the yes to all in your ini file. Gameplay changes:Journal you can now view quests by active and completedMap you can now annote locationsNew NPCS spell effects equipment, and armorA bunch of new scripting functions for modders. thats about it really, there are no major gameplay altering things. except maybe becoming a werewolf in bloodmoon but im sure you've already read all about that. So will I get these errors all the time, with Tribunal and Blodmoon installed both? Could you explain the errors? Sorry if I'm bugging (as it is ;-) you, but I'm pretty annoyed when such program errors happen. Thankfully, my copy of Morrowind so far is running absolutely fine.
