The Beth/Nexus rule is pretty generous- and that is that a MODDED asset from the game can be placed on the Nexus- but that an UN-CHANGED raw asset can not.

 

So simply compying a script breaks the distribition rules of Nexus and Beth, but making ANY modifications to that script allows its use. If you cannot think of a way to modify a script, you should give up.

 

AND, in general, if you have access to source code, it is pretty darned easy to write your own version.

 

The tiny no-story DLCs are not something Beth is going to fret over. Clearly if someone exploited the mod rules to effectively provide the DLC for 'free', Beth might get upset. But of all the assets Beth considers unique to a DLC, well scripts are not going to be on that list. Just change up the script a little like I said, so the file signature is NOT the same as in the DLC.

personally, i would just require Atomatron, because like it or not it IS technically a Story dlc. a small one yes, but it still is adding story elements.

The only dlc i won't ever require on my mods might be the workshop dlc, unless one of them adds functionality that i need in one of my mods, like if contraptions adds in a "rotation helper" marker to the GECK.(not the rotation widget, a marker that rotates things in the game itself)
