[Mod Request] Witcher 3 music overhaul

Recommended Posts

Witcher 3 contains one of the best video game soundtracks ever, but it's in-game implementation leaves a few things to be desired.

1. Breaks in musical delivery. While the individual songs are all great, the relentless way in which the game plays them constantly on repeat, makes even the nicest tunes seem annyong after a while. We need a mod that implements a "World of Warcraft approach" to soundtrack, where there would always be a few minutes of scilence randomly mixed in between the songs in the playlist. It would help make the soundtrack less invasive. Plus, the game's excellent sound design makes exploration that much more enjoyable when accompanied by short periods of listening to nothing the the sounds of the enviorment.

2. Freeing up the game's soundtrack. W3 contains a suprising amount of individual, quality tunes, but the fact that so many of them are locked and area-specific means that prolonged play in a single part of the game's map can get a bit tiresome. Right now I am replaying Hearts of Stone and since the DLC's story takes place in a single area of the map, west of Oxenfurt, the number of songs that play, both during exploration and combat, is very limited and becomes annying after a while. And though I can understand that for example Skellige music is too place-specific to be used in other areas, I don't really see any reasons not to hear some White Orchard or Velen tunes, during my play of HoS.
