JonDark
It took six days Tamriel time. Real time, it took me a whole day in between doing other stuff and watching tv and going here and there. I started in Anvil and made my way south along the shore just to see if I could sail one of Sides Sailing Ships to the edge of the map but a few minutes later I noticed I wasn't finding the edge but instead I was heading west and I was off the visible map. I thought, just how far can I go. I had a mod that disabled borders and a random encounter mod that turned out to be a nuisance since I had made it several times more than half way to the other end of the map and once to within sight of Leyawiin and was killed by something that came up from behind. I finally ended up disabling the mod and started once more quick saving along the way. I made it all the way across the southern part of the map and after a short layover in Leyawiin thought what the heck I'll try the north now and made my way to the very top of the map all this time completely off the visible part of the map only aware of where I was going by the sight of the compass. It took longer going the north rout for some reason. There were times when the ship which normally has a constant steady speed would slow down to a bare crawl and the water would disappear from under the ship in huge squares of unfinished world textures the ship then seemingly flying over land. I kept to my experiment quick saving every so often which was a good thing because I once jumped ship just to see if I could swim in this area but I fell through to what seemed like barely textured land beneath and died. I reloaded and made my way on till It seemed I should be at the other end of the map but when I checked the map I had barely made it half way. On I traveled a half hour or longer before I found I'd gone almost to the extreme north west end of the map and the land and water began to look a little more finished. I followed the shore untill at last I made the turn south and east where in the distance I could see my point of departure Anvil. Ok so it's not "Around The World In Eighty Days" but it was a fun little adventure to waste a day with and what the heck I felt as if I'd done something I'd never heard of anyone doing before. Has anyone else tried this?
