GoodfellowGoodspring
My PC is 5-6 years old which is around the same as the current gen of consoles yet i can run the game on HIGH textures and viewing distances which suit me and look good! The consoles run on low texs right? I do tend to freeze for 5-10 seconds when exploring in the wilderness occasionally but players on the official forums have also stated this on much high spec PCs and put it down to faulty drivers or bugs. (Anybody else got this?) My Spec:____________ WinXPPentium 4 3.06 With Hyper-Threading2GB Ram (upgraded)Radeon HD4350 512MB (upgraded from onboard)____________ Am i being silly or is this good performance? I know Skyrim is a port and all but coming from what people were saying my type of setup wouldn't barely play the game yet its run flawlessly so far! P.S Faults- I hate how all the races all look the same and sound the same- Whiterun is like Edoras from the LOTR (Norsey theme) so i dont like it :(- No health loss when underwater- Death system is terrible, takes ages to load again after and you don't know what levels/what you've don't since your last save.- Giants kill you in one hit- Falling off high places kills you without warning- Most guards all look the same (with stupid helm) and say similar things- Music doesnt change when enemies are near= OMFG scared my to death :(- Jarls and kingdoms confuse me, dont know what falls under what- Tutorial is bland & you get defaulted to Nord when traveling to Helgen Thankyou for reading :)

First of all, Khajit, Orc and Argonians clearly don't look like the others. The elves look nothing like the humans and then within the humans there are clear distinctions in style and voice.- Most modern high-fantasy is inspired by LOTR, it's to be expected.- Never experienced it taking "ages to load again" and well, get used to quick saving if you want to know when you last saved. Don't see how you'd want to fix this.- They don't kill me in one hit. They're meant to be a higher level enemy that you don't tackle early in the game. It's a good thing, finally having challenging enemies back in TES.- What do you expect? A big flashing sign saying "Caution: You're about to die because you jumped off a freaking cliff" to pop up? Or barriers? Don't see how this is a fault with the game at all.- It always changes for me, may be a bug on your end.- Not a fault with the game, more a fault with you I'm afraid! - Tutorial was unbelivably epic in my opinion, especially considering how boring Oblivion's was. Running away from a dragon right at the start of the game after just avoiding execution? How is that bland!? As for defaulting to Nord...how on earth is that a fault, why on earth does that even matter? There we go!
GoodfellowGoodspring
There we go! Opinions are opinions but il try to emphasis what i was getting at: - They have the same face shape and especially with hoods on i cant tell between the humanoid faces (its hard to explain.) - Khajit are perfect, Argonians dont hiss like they did in Oblivion, Orcs are abit deeper in tone and again the other races are just the same elves dont have light voices. - Im aware of this i just don't like Norse themes (which im aware Skyrim is) i prefer Solitude which is more stone buildings instead of straw etc (like Gondor!) - I guess i was too low a level then, but i didnt have chance to hit he just swung and i went 100ft in the air!- I was expecting health loss atleast, the cliff i walked off wasnt that steep yet the ragdoll physics took over and i went slamming into the floor.- Wolves scare me a lot because they ambush me and no music makes it hard to notice them!- The following of the guard and jumping randomly from a window to a burning building (which i missed the first time) a bit too scripted and slow paced (but i guess we are never going to agree there.) - If you save in the tutorial it says Nord- which annoyed me and even though you cant see yourself it anoys me how the game defaults you to a Nord just because you are in their province (ditto.) Ignoral
I always play with the music turned off. Personally it ruins the immersion for me when I can tell I'm being attacked. I love the "OH S**T THERES A WOLF RIGHT BEHIND ME" feeling each time one manages to sneak up on me. I did have it on for the first 10 minutes though because I was too busy admiring the game to mess with the settings and I recall it changing to a battle theme. The defaulting to Nord thing.. I really have no idea why that bothers you since I'm fairly certain nobody calls you a Nord, it just says you're a Nord in the auto-save right before you get to make your character. My only gripe with the game is how annoying attempting to change dual wielded spells can get. p: Edited November 12, 2011 by Ignoral
