I would have to say Fatal Frame.

I totally have to ditto that! I cannot make it through. I pick it up every now and then, but end up putting back down again after about 30 minutes at most. I have yet to finish it...Then there's Fatal Frame 2 and Fatal Frame 3, and Fatal Frame 4 is in the works. I don't think I'll ever finish this series...

I also will say Resident Evil and Silent Hill. I can make it through those just fine, but there are areas that make me jump, like the infamous hallway in Resident Evil, or the infamous Hospital in Silent Hill.

Resident Evil never really scared me. Did un-nerve me at times but not trully scared.

What about The Hallway? The one is Resident Evil 1 where the dog jumps out a window at you, then in Resident Evil 2 there's the same hallway with boarded up windows with the zombie hand that reaches out, and in Code Veronica there's the same hallway with no windows that the giant tentacle shoots out of the wall at you? No one who has played Resident Evil can say that hallway didn't scare the crap out of them.

I meant the game in general. Those did make me jump, yes. In Resident Evil 4, though, the one thing that trully frightens me is when the Regenerators show up. (I actually forgot about The Hallway. What's wrong with me?)

Ah, yes, the Regenerators. Whenever one of those guys appeared, my heart rate instantly sky rocketed. They got especially bad once you started running into the ones with the leech things on the back. Those are almost impossible to kill. One time, however, I got really lucky and managed to, somehow, shoot the back leech while facing the front. It sure made the battle a lot easier!

I think those are called Iron Maidens. I may be wrong. I was relived to hear that there are only about 5 Regenerators and even less Maidens in the game. They're hard as heck to kill. (You need thermal goggles and a rifle to kill them.)

Sorta changing directions here, I've been playing Silent Hill 2 more often. That game is scary when you're not prepared. The "breathing" hallway near the start of the game made me un-easy. And when you first get the flashlight, you turn it on and that thing with legs for the upper body, also known as a Mannequin, scared the heck out of me as it jumped up. I know what I'll be playing more of.

I also like how the radio emits an errie static when the monsters are nearbye. And why are we the only ones in this thread?

I think the scariest... well maybe not scary more creepy, definatly had me looking over my should a fair bit and jumping at the slightest noises was Eternal Darkness. This is a game that actually played the player lol.

As well as a health bar your characters had a sanity bar, as this went down things started to happen... don't want to spoil it , but well worth looking out for, could probably find it cheap around, I think it is only on the Gamecube though. Works on Wii too...

Ditto.

What made it really great was it's huge influences by Lovecraft. Almost every aspect is from Lovecraft's works.

I still remember that one scene; I don't think anyone who's played it will ever forget it.

SPOILER!

That one scene where it pretends to erase the memory card. That had to be the scariest part.
