Tamriel Online (SkyRim)

Recommended Posts

So, I decided to try the LAN mod for Skyrim. It's a great idea...on paper. In execution, it's a bit fiddly (I just made that word up). After 2 days of doing this and that, downloading and installing, I finally got it down to:

Both computers can play Skyrim fine alone.

Both computers can connect to the server.

I am connecting these computers to each other through a hub.

I can browse each computer from the other fine. I have pinged both computers from the other with no packet loss.

If computer 1 connects to the LAN game server alone, everything's fine.

If computer 2 connects to the LAN game server alone, everythings fine.

If both computers connect to the server, (doesn't seem to matter which goes first), then immediately the view centers on the screen and then it's like the screen (or camera) begins to bob up and down. The mouse or keyboard has no effect on movement or view.

If I press the key for "wait", I get a message on screen of "You can't wait in this location", (which is proper, since it's the tower in the beginning of the game).

The escape key works and I can look at everything in those menus.

This happens immediately after the 2nd computer connects to the server and happens on both computers.

If I point the view towards where the characters are going to spawn on each computer, I can see that they both appear ingame, I just can't move them or look around.

Quick PS: just thought I'd better mention that we are both running a pure vanilla game, no add-ons what-so-ever, (other than the Tamriel Online mod).

This is killing me that I have worked on this for 2 days and am so close, but nearly at my wits end.

Anyone have any ideas on this?
