I'm using the Improved Female Skin Textures mod. Is it just a Steam problem or..Have you checked Load Loose Files in the launcher under Data Files? I also am having the same issue as the poster (I have some mods in their respective "data/interface/..." and "data/meshes/..." folders but cannot get them to show up in-game). In the Skyrim Launcher when I click Data Files the only esm that appears is the "Skyrim.esm" and so I check "Load Loose Files" and hit OK. Then (before starting the game) if I hit Data Files again, I see that the checkbox has reverted back to being UNCHECKED.
jameslew
I'm also having the same problem. About to delete all the mods and just install one to see if I can get any of them to work - maybe there's a conflict or something. It's a Steam install; my steam drive is my F drive if it matters, but it shouldn't. X64 machine.
huntsman2310
I think that all of the vanilla folder setups for Skyrim, Oblivion and Fallout New Vegas were just BSAs and a sound folder. Just wait for a BSA unpacker to come out. Bring on the Skyrim mod manager.
HiFiSi
I don't know either. I put a couple of the mods here in my skyrim data folder but all that shows up in the skyrim launcher's data file selector is the game itself and no mods. OK yeah, nevermind this. Apparently mods are just automatically enabled when you put them in the data folder instead of being able to turn them on and off from the data manager on the game launcher like in Oblivion. Aluminumfoil
If a mod says to install it to a certain directory, and the directory does not exist, create it. Most authors will bundle their work in folders with the correct hierarchy already built in, which can either be dropped in your install directory (if the highest level folder in the mod is Data) or in your Data folder (if the highest level folder is something else). Skyrim loads files from the Data folder if they are in the appropriate directory before it loads them from the .bsa archives. You aren't modding Skyrim in the sense that you think you are; you're hacking it. The fundamental definition of hacking is that you are issuing the computer commands that the standard user interface cannot. The game will not display anything in the data manager. Oblivion would not, either, if you were just dropping files in the directories. The game will never display files other than .esm and .esp in the data manager. If the mod is observably not working once you are playing the game and looking at the specific thing that the mod was intended to change, then you have a problem and the community can help. Right now, the thing that you're saying is not working properly is completely unrelated to your mods and isn't a problem at all.

I have exactly that problem. I installed Armor and Cloth improvement and Detailed Faces and they just dont work.Files are in corrent folders, because modders included them into the 7z files. Before i start Skyrim i turned on also Load Loose Files yet still there is no effect in game.Textures are exactly the same like without mods on faces, cloths and armors. So are you putting the Detailed Faces Data Folder into the Skyrim folder? You aren't opening up the Skyrim Data folder and then putting the Detailed Faces Data folder inside of that?
