bben46
Looks like some people love it and others hate it. Of course, if you are using a gamepad and not a keyboard, the experience will be completely different. And if you have been using a gamepad for a lot of games and have gotten used to the console style interface that will make a difference also. Personally, as a player who has never bothered with a gamepad, and have never cared for the console type interface - I find it clunky, inefficient, and completely non intuitive. As for the inventory, I can only assume you are impressed with pretty pictures over usefulness. Yes, you can bind keys - sometimes it even works - sometimes you have to click the number key twice before it takes. As for actually binding 1. open menu, 2. open weapons menu, 3, select weapon, 4, press F to make it a favorite. 5, close weapons menu. (main menu closes automatically) 6, open favorites menu "press Q'. 7. hold down select while pressing hot key. 8. close favorites menu - now you have ONE item on a hot key. I have had to do step 7 several times for some things to take effect. - repeat these 8 steps for each item you want on a hot key - you can combine a couple of steps as long as you remembered to make each item you want as a favorite but to make up for that you will have to ( repeat steps 3 & 4 for each one. - You want a spell on a hotkey - then you have to go through it all again with the magic menu instead of the weapons menu For Oblivion: 1. open inventory (tab) 2. while holding down the hotkey click on the weapon you want there. repeat step 2 for each weapon. Open Magic menu -[you don't have to close the weapons to do this. repeat step 2 for as many as you want. Oblivion 2 steps to bind a single weapon or spell to a hotkey - Skyrim 8 steps to do the same thing.
saldu
The only thing I don't like about the interface is that you can't sort inventory by weight/price.And minor since it happens very rarely to me, that the mouse sometimes jumps to a dialogue action you didnt want while clicking. o0Wizzard0o
I may be a bit off topic here but my PC killed the system requirements printed on the disk cover. But it doesn't come close to recommended ones. I can get graphics running at medium settings with max fade on all sliders but I get almost 1 second of input lag using either gamepad or mouse. After trying various low settings and still getting input lag I found that lowering the screen resolution in the .ini file while maintaining medium settings lowers (Or in my case, Eliminates) input lag. (Ok. so I play in 640x480. it works great)
Michlo
Nice one! Thanks for telling us how we can still setup hotkeys, DZ302. It is definitely far more cumbersome to setup but I'm glad we can still do it. :) Cheers.
