KazuSempai
Well we only needed to add bBackground Keyboard=1 to the Oblivion.ini to make multimedia keys work with Oblivion.Sadly, the same doesn't work with Skyrim. Did anybody found out how to do this with Skyrim or are we forever forced to quit the game, since Alt+TAB crashes it, to change the volume?Ps. running in windowed mode is not an option since it reduce performance for me. bben46
I got alt tab to work on mine. Win7x64 running dual monitors - Skyrim on primary monitor only - when I alt-tab out of the game no problem. When I click on the Skyrim icon to return, I get a black screen plus Skyrim audio. Then Ctrl-alt-del and select 'Task Manager' It flashes the task manager then right into the game - the task manager is still running as a background process. If the task manager comes up, then select Skyrim from the Applications list and click on 'Switch To' in the lower right corner.
IndorilTheGreat
I got alt tab to work on mine. I have also found that if you Alt-Tab back into Skyrim, you get the black screen (as you described above). However, I also found that if you are on that black screen, and Alt-Tab and select Skyrim again, it goes back into the game. It seems a bit quicker to me. Just pointing out some friendly tips. Edit:I'm not trying to come off as arrogant or anything. It seems that I caught a minor case of strep-throat on Thursday (worst possible time to get it  ), and my head feels like it's going to pop. My language skills are not on the top of my list right now. Edited November 12, 2011 by IndorilTheGreat
chops214
this drove me nuts until i found some microsoft software (www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/internet-keyboard) that tho it's implemented for one their keyboards i know to work for logitech g15s (i originally found out about it in logitech forum) and my pixxo cheap-as-dirt multimedia kb, adds a little display at the bottom right when you change the volume out of game but no changes in game aside from being able to pause your music when some npc is mumbling at you or turn down the volume when a dragon decides to land on your face repeatedly, not a perfect fix, but it works

I'm using a Saitek Cyborg V.7 keyboard, very handy piece of software, good find!
Cthuloot
I usually alt tab, then do what I need to do, then click the skyrim icon to get the audio and black screen. I get a bar for skyrim at the top which I move out of the way, click the desktop or another program, then click skyrim again, after a moment everything is working fine again.
