Markarth bug??

I went all they back to the mise were I was held first while there seemed to be 100 guards chasing me, they eventually stopped chasing me through the mine and some dwemer robot took care of them for me, then I killed the dwemer and had to sneak through the city to stay unoticed, but I eventually got my quest done, I will be staying away from there for a while, maybe try the stormcloak missions and see if that works.

Thanks for the advice Kidmoyer, I'll give it a bash and report back if it works!

Okay, that didn't work however I went on a rampage, killed 6-7 guards and then went back to the Shrine of Talos, spoke to the guard who initially tries to arrest you (the one who talks about pinning everything on you) and some different dialogue came up. If you choose to go to jail, you're stuck in there because there are no people and the gates require a key. My only option was to give him the 7k bounty and this seemed to work.

So that's another fix, I'm a bit gutted I've lost 7k for the bounty (I guess I could have loaded a previous save to see if that works) but I'm free at last!

This seriously needs fixing though, it's probably one of the worst bugs I've come across in a game >.<

Holy s***, I got it fixed, thanks to this.

Basically, tgm in console, start killing guards.

Once you cleared all the guards inside markarth, go to the shrine of talos, they will (probably) assault you. There's two-three guards, but if you select them you'll notice one has a low number on the... hexadecimal identifier? You want that one alive, kill the other two via console, then yield. Proceed through the dialog but you'll get a "..." option, go through it and you'll turn off the flag proper and will be able to pay off (the huge) bounty. Paycrimegold in console works and still keeps your stolen goods, you'll lose the gold though, spawn that back in if you wish.

Hey Guys, this is my first time posting on a forum, so please forgive my bad etiquette.

So, I also encountered this bug after completing that forsworn mission in the prison, and I accidently killed some guards on my way out. The same problem happened to me; Every time I say to take me to jail, the dialogue goes back to the "What's wrong?" question, thus leaving me in a never-ending circle of bloodshed. I tried tons of things, but no go. Finally, I read the advice about returning to the Talos shrine and talking to the guy who tries to pin you down for murder. I ran in to talk to him, and was greeted with the same dialogue; "It's so much work covering up these murders, etc." The other guards around him, however, started attacking me during the dialogue. I ran back out side with guards chasing me, put the difficulty on the easiest setting (I may be a cheater, but it helped)and duel-wielded healing spells. After letting the guards get their fair share of trying to kill me, I then proceeded to run outside to Skyrim. As soon as the setting loads, I was stopped by one of the guards posted outside the city gate. the same question popped up, and I replied the same as usual. "I submit. Take me to jail." But this time, IT WORKED!!!" I was sent to the prison, grabbed a pickaxe, and mined a siver ore deposit, thus serving my time. And I am now a free man!!

Sorry this reply is soo long, but I'm so excited that I'm finally done with that whole fiasco. I hoped my long-winded description helped.

This quest is seriously bugged. I avoided it, hoping for a fix but since I have become thane of the reach, the guards won't even talk to me when entering the shrine (known bug aswell, sadly NOT fixed in 1.5: http://uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:The_Forsworn_Conspiracy#Bugs). So I am afraid I will not be able to finish the quest... Edited by gurgelstock
