GreatSilentOne
Well, it's all vanilla dialogue that is being linked to the non-vanilla NPCs, so I would've assumed the files were already there. But, this is the Creation Kit, so I shouldn't assume. I ended up redoing it to not require the dialogue at all. I've already posted it, actually. I'd guess your last suggestion, Michael, was the actual culprit, so I'll just use this as a learning opportunity for the future. Thank you for all of your help. agerweb
Just in case anyone else sees this thread If you are using vanilla dialogue for custom characters just copying the dialogue line does not do the trick. You have to extract the actual dialogue fuz file and make a copy and name it to match the new file name given in the CK Edit response box for the copied line. I did a little tutorial for doing this for trainer lines.

reviestopmotion
Just in case anyone else sees this thread If you are using vanilla dialogue for custom characters just copying the dialogue line does not do the trick. You have to extract the actual dialogue fuz file and make a copy and name it to match the new file name given in the CK Edit response box for the copied line. I did a little tutorial for doing this for trainer lines. I know this thread is old but I'm kind of sick and tired of my own creation at this point. I made a custom follower who works all fine and dandy. Then I made a quest for him, which after a few hours of expirementing finally pops up and places a marker on my follower, Brad. The objective is to talk to Brad, but doesn't do anything when you do talk to him. That's fine, but he's supposed to have custom dialogue options in his interaction menu, that's linked to vanilla voice files which I extracted properly. However for some reason the custom dialogue line that I added to his menu just won't appear. He does have a voice and what not. He uses the MaleDrunk voicetype. Any idea what the problem could be?
