nahtanoJ
I'm not really sure where I should post this thread, so sorry if it's in the wrong forum section. I have followed the below steps to the letter but still the save button is greyed out. Save your game first, in case things get messed up.Open the race menuMake the desired changesAnd this is the important part: Press escape, which may or may not show the Save option available. If it does, save the game, then load it with your changes in place, stats unaffected. However, should Save be grayed out, toggle the console on and off, and attempt it again. It will allow you to save, and then load the game, changes in place. /Thanks in advance!-Jonathan
Jason8289
make sure you don't have the map, inventory, or any other menus open. that's the only cause for greying out the save option that i know of

I know I'm doing it right! Edited November 13, 2011 by nahtanoJ
DyingAtheist
I've got a video about this up on youtube, but if this is actually doable without a change to your stats then I'll have to revise it. WIll give it a go now, cheers!

Obviously this was when I thought race had to effect your stats.Question, how do you open the menu on a keyboard? I can do it with a 360 controller but not with my keyboard. Wolves425
what else you could do is to use the game console to get back up to the lvls you had in every skill before the race change. though its a little bit of work as you need to write down the skill lvls you have and then spend some time to get the same lvls. Oh, that's not what I meant! On Oblivion you can save the game while you're in the character creation menu and then load without losing your stats. what else you could do is to use the game console to get back up to the lvls you had in every skill before the race change. though its a little bit of work as you need to write down the skill lvls you have and then spend some time to get the same lvls.Ah, I see. I guess that's the only option atm. Thanks for the tip. Edited November 13, 2011 by nahtanoJ

Don't need any more goofy work-arounds for that. You will of course have some stats re-balanced for your new race though (I think).

The health and stamina resets and I want to keep my previous stats even if they make no sense with my new race.
