Kilkreath Ruin quest

I'm stuck in this quest....both for a solution, plus I'm locked in a room!

 

It begins in Winterhold, when a courier gives you A Letter From A Friend. You go to a big dungeon full of tough stuff, activate an energy system, then....you're stuck. Well, I"m stuck.

 

Anyone advance in this one?

Are you getting stuck at the loading screen after picking up the Dawnbreaker?

Ok, first of all, these are radiant quests; the courier will give you a letter from a friend if you use a shout in a public area (sometimes even outside ruins still counts, ie, shouting around Mzulft can still trigger it) - they will direct you to a place where a new word can be learned. So the ruin and location where you meet the courier is random (I've had the courier meet me at a random farm before, of all places). If you are stuck in a ruin, it would suggest that the ruin itself is bugged, because this quest doesn't actually change the ruin, it just puts a marker at where you will be able to find the word wall.

 

I'll take one of my high-level chars through it and see if I encounter any bugs.

Edit: ok, seems that maybe it was bugged, because that dungeon is specifically for the meridia quest:

The quest trigger is supposed to be the statue of meridia or the beacon of meridia, not a letter from a friend. I'll investigate and try entering the ruins w/o triggering the meridia quest (considering that the meridia statue is right on top of the ruins though, it might still try to start the quest)

 

Edit 2: ok, the word of power IS NOT EVEN IN THE RUINS... to quote the article: "You may be wondering where the Word of Power is in all of this: it's outside, just up the hill from Meridia's statue a bit. Listen for the music cue."
