psycmoe
I am not a modder, but I am a long term gamer (started this journey back with Morrowind). I don't know the feasibility of any of these ideas, but I do know that I'd love to have them. The modder community has always made my gameplay much, much more enjoyable and relaxing, and I look forward to the incredible and creative stuff you folks come up with! I am playing on a comp that is just over the minimum requirements as of this writing, and have played about 24 hours.I do not own the manual, and have not read an online version. 1. Same sex marriage. As far as I can tell, this isn't an option, and I'd much prefer to marry one of the many kick-butt women I've met. However, I play a girl (considering I'm pretty comfortable in my own body) and, well.... the girls are prettier. Heh. 2. Streamlined Crafting. To craft any item, I have to select the kind, the item, and then hit ok on a popup window. Using the mouse is funky in this game already, so I notice that I'm slowed down by selecting that "ok". Anything that made this a keyboard command only or just did away with the extra step would make crafting a little bit less irritating. 3. Bigger cross hairs. Maybe I'm blind, but I have a more difficult time aiming my arrows when I'm not sneaking because the cross-hairs are much smaller normally. The increase in size would help. 4. Purple dark brotherhood armor. I have a massive obsession with purple, and am happy when anything is made purple. I also love the dark brotherhood, and they are my favorite faction. Changing the tint of the armor and sticking it somewhere in the sanctuary? That would make me a very happy girl. 5. Purple hair, fine clothes, face paint, bows.... Yeah, while we're at it, I'll take any purple you throw at me. You have a fan right here! I'd love to see some fine clothes in purple, and an option to get my hair some ridiculous shade (art imitates life amiright?). 6. Storage. Someone out there is probably already on it, In fact, someone may have already done this, and I just haven't had time to check just yet. If not, storage would be nice. I'm really looking forward to the astounding and creative houses that this community will come up with, but I also understand that's long term. A few chests until then would be nice - the one house I own doesn't have enough for me to effectively sort my goodies. Would it be possible to have 0 weight chests sold by a few vendors, which could be dropped in the owned house? 7. Pillow fort and floating book staircase. Heh. Remember making these in Morrowind? I loved the book staircases. I'd stack them in tall spirals, and take out every other book so they were floating and awesome, and then cover them in gemstones. Because I'm five. I, like others, made ridiculous pillow piles and forts because we could. I know the physics engine won't allow it, but I'd love to see them exist static somewhere in the game. Maybe an invisible spiral bookshelf? A pillow fort that you can go inside, and there's a kid living it it? Let your imagination go wild! ETA: Ok, so I guess I actually meant 8. Multiple ring slots. I too think it is silly that we can only wear one ring. An increase seems to be in order! ^.^ Edited November 13, 2011 by psycmoe
psycmoe
Is this too wall of text to get replies? Or is it just late and I'm impatient? (No, really, am I too much of a teal deer?)
SirBeret
I am going to answer these in the same order you posted. 1) This would have to be a mod, I assume. I have no married anyone yet so I cannot be certain, however, I am going to go out on a limb here and hope that when the Creation Kit* comes outs, NPC characters will have properties, and ability to marry to player will be one of them. 2) This would definitely be a mod, however, not via the Creation Kit, so you have hope when people start making patches and suites to better suit their preference. 3) This might be re-texturing but I am 99% sure this is very possible. If it's a texture, it's a simple solution of finding the .dds file, converting it to .psd, opening it up in Photoshop, making it bigger, saving it, converting back to .dds and putting it back in the directory for /skyrim. I am not sure if that is the case, however. 4) This is a simple matter of re-texture in photoshop and creatingn ew items. Hell, even I could do this. Just wait until the Creation Kit for Skyrim is released. 5) Same as #4. 6) The first house you can buy is in Whiterun for 5,000 gold. It has a couple containers which hold unlimited items, I believe. A few chests, where? It's risky to put containers that do not belong to the player because they are liable to be used by NPC and might be reset which means you'd lose everything inside. That's the primary reason people buy houses, to store items. The only other way you can get around this is putting in extra containers yourself via the Creation Kit where ever you want and setting it to be the property of the player's; furthermore, you could also go around to existing containers and changing their properties so they belong to the player and not the predestined NPC. 7) I have not played Morrowind, I don't see what you're asking for... bigger books? 8) Simple mod. I'm sure someone will port the one from Oblivion. *Creation Kit: It's a tool for people to utilize to edit the world of Skyrim and create new buildings, levels, items, weapons, etc. Basically, it's a level editor. IT has not been released yet. Expect it very soon, according to Besthesda. Hope that helps. ~lucas Edited November 13, 2011 by SirBeret
rpgmansam
These are definitely good suggestions. In terms of the crafting menus and all the menus in general, they need a major overhaul. Major one.Agree completely with same-sex marraige, someone is probably on that already though

I also want to give you an idea of what I mean. Neither of these are my owned screenshots, but available out there on the interwebs. That will require modding outside the Creation Kit, I believe. Making the objects have different gravity properties. I am not sure, to be honest. Lol. ^.^ I was more hoping someone would use the book ... um... skins? Image? ... and cover a staircase with it. Not that I even know if that's possible.
