bben46
To answer the original question. The Skyrim, as well as the previous gambryo engine are not designed for co op or multiplayer. They are designed - and optimized for single player. To add co op, they would - not just need to make a few small changes, but use a completely different game engine. Either license the new engine from someone else for quite a bit of cash up front, then take the time for their programmers to get proficient with the new engine before starting on a game, or make their own - 3 to 5 YEARS work building and debugging the new engine before even starting on a game. The 'new' Bethesda Creaion Engine seems to be based on the older Gambryo engine used for Oblivion, Fallout3 and New Vegas - and not a completely new from the ground up engine. Those earlier co op attempts took several years of work by some excellent programmers, and still did not really work - they were a proof of concept mod only - and the proof went - Yeah, we can do it, but it doesn't really work very well, has a lot of stutter and hesitation, has to run on a lower resolution and crashes a lot more than the original game.
