I was wondering if it were possible to become a werewolf and a vampire simultaneously, I understand that if you are a werewolf you can't catch dieases so can you become a vampire then a werewolf?

I can't find this out myself because im getting Skyrim for christmas :( looking forward to it though.

Actually. I can confirm this as possible. I had been vampire for a while, and when I continued on the (spoiler) Companion quests, they offered me a chance to become a werewolf. Seems that this ritual of theirs ignores the vampire disease immunity and gives you the ability to transform into a werewolf while you already are a vampire.

EDIT

---------

Seems that my statement is only partially true, I was fooled by the still remaining vampire face after the werewolf transformation. The werewolf transformation took the vampire powers away, left the face vampirish and messed up my eyes, I do not recommend this as a way of curing vampirism as it obviously shouldn't even happen.

I do hope mods fix this though, I myself am eager to play as a vampire-werewolf hybrid, as much as it's against the lore.

Nice I am a vampire as well and didn´t get to that part yet but I was wonder maybe werewolf acts more like a power rather than a disease and that might be why we can be hybrids :D

EDIT:Just read your edit -.- XD

I also would say it wouldn't be anything like overpowered at all, as the werewolf transformation indeed is a power that you can use once per day, and when transformed, can't use any spells or so before it ends. We'll just have to wait for the mods. http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/happy.gif

I've no doubt this will happen, and I look forward to it. They've also gone with the frankly insane Oblivion-style Vampirism where you become more powerful when you don't feed but lose the ability to pass as human. There were 3 or 4 really good mods for alternate Vampire systems in Oblivion, and the "supernatural races" are always really popular. I expect this will be a hot area for modding :)

Against the lore, huh? Maybe for a regular Joe... but I wonder how many times in Tamriel's history a Dragonborn has tried to contract both conditions? :D

  • 3 months later...

It is possible to become a werepyre/vampwolf/vampire + werewolf, and I have evidence. One day, I transformed into a werewolf somewhere in the Rift then general encounter a volkihar vampire was there so I killed him. Then as I fed on him, a message popped up saying "You have contracted Sanguinaris Vampiris(or whateva was that)" then I went around till my werewolf morph was over. It was sunny day, then some warning said that I can be damaged by sunlight and something about vampiric powers awakening. That's how I became a vampire-werewolf hybrid.
