Darkersun
Hi Folks, I would like to have a more immersive feeling about armor modding and armor progression. These are my ideas to archive it. So first I did only a short search so maybe there is something like I'm suggesting already (but I don't think so). I love what the "Armorsmith Extended" mod does, but it does to much in my opinion. It allows to add all mods for one item type to it. Balistic Weaves to Hats and Caps, Sunglasses can get "Recon sensors" or "Targeting HUD" which for me feels un-immersive and also takes away the option to have unique items with unquie upgrade options. I understand that some want to play there game with a fun character wearing a dress, sunglasses and a nice Lieutenant's hat using Ballistic weave, Sensor etc. But for me that breaks immersion. Here is what I would love to see: 1) Make mods only possible to items that make logical sense (my reasoning I could be wrong). Armor Mods: I would like to see armor and Outfits organized on there Tier/Tech/Armor/Outfit type to define which Mods that can be used by type: (Each Tier allows the Mods from the lower Tiers) Tech Level 1 Basic Armor: - Raider Armor - Leather Armor - Metal Armor Basic Armor Mods (for all armor): - Pocketed - Deep Pocketed - Lighter Build - Padded (Chest only) - Lead Lined (Chest only) - Dense (Chest only) - Braced (Arms only) - Brawling (Arms only) - Strengthened (Arms and Legs) - Weighted (Arms only) - Cushioned (Legs only) - Muffled (Legs only) - Custom Fitted (Legs only) - Sleek (Legs only) Tech Level 2 Advanced Armor: - Combat Armor - Robot Armor Advanced Armor Mods: - Asbestos Lining (Chest only) - Ultra-Light Build - Aerodynamic (Arms only) Tech Level 3 Hightech Armor: - Marine Armor - Synth Armor Hightech Armor Mods: - BioCommMesh (Chest only) - Pneumatic (Chest only) - Blood cleanser (Chest only) - Medic pump (Chest only) Clothing/Outfits Mods: Cloth Outfits: - Dresses, normal cloth, everything not Armored or from advanced materials Clothing Mods (available for all Outfits): - Linings - Ballistic Weave - Pocketed - Deep Pocketed Armored Outfits: - Brotherhood fatigues - Cage armor - engineer's armor - Field scribe's armor - Helmeted cage armor - Helmeted spike armor - Kellogg's outfit - Maxson's battlecoat - Mechanist's armor (Maybe 3?) - Minutemen general's uniform - Railroad armored coat - Silver Shroud costume - Spike armor Armored Outfits Mods: - Lighter Build - Padded - Asbestos Lining - Lead Lined - Dense - Braced - Brawling - Strengthened - Weighted - Cushioned - Muffled - Custom Fitted - Sleek Advanced/Hightech Outfits: - Cleanroom suit - Courser uniform - Hazmat Suit - Marine wetsuit - Synth uniform - Vault jumpsuit Advanced Outfits Mods: - Ultra-Light Build - BioCommMesh - Pneumatic - Stabilized - Aerodynamic Headgear: Only high tech headgear can get tech mods (also makes it more intressting to aquire these items) For example: Mechanist's helmet, Synth field helmet, Assault marine armor helmet, Marine tactical helmet, Tinker headgear Mods available: Sensor array, VATS matrix overlay, Internal database, Recon sensors, Targeting HUD I'mot final with the setup. Maybe the categories will change. This is my first draft and should just help get the idea. 2) Ballistic Weave and Linings: All normal Outfits can get a Ballistic Weave or Lining mod. (Maybe not Shorts and similar cloth) Hats and Caps don't get any weave/Linings (110 DR/ER for a cap, don't think so) Also I think Balance Weave is way to good and Linings are so much worse. They should stay viable options to each other (even if weave must be unlocked first) (would be great to have quests from the other factions to unlock the weave) Here is what I would like to have. Balance Weave: DR / ER Ballistic Weave 10/10 Ballistic Weave MkII 15/15 Ballistic Weave MkIII 20/20 Ballistic Weave MkIV 25/25 Ballistic Weave MkV 30/30 Institute Killer Weave 20/20 Linings: ER / RR Standard 10/30 Insulated Lining 15/35 Treated Lining 20/40 Resistant lining 25/45 Protective lining 30/50 Shielded lining 35/55 This also gives the toughness Perk and heavy Armor more value. (I know its a hard nerf, but it makes real armor more important which for me feels right. Even if this is better than a normal bulletprove vest, it should not give mor protection than advanced combat armor) Edited June 22, 2016 by Darkersun
Erierth
I share the same idea dude!I even have made changes on the ballist weave to increase the weight of the cloth when the B.W. is applied
