After you pick up the amulet the mage who brought you to Saarthal (can't remember his name) should come up to the gate so you can talk to him. After you talk to him, the wall where you got the amulet will start to glow, cast a spell at the wall to destroy it.
XunAmarox Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 (edited) If you're at the very first part, you have to put the amulet on. Then you have to cast a spell on that thing you got the key on. If you're at a later part, then probably on one of the dead drauger. One of the powerful ones most likely, like the warlord or overlord or whatever they're called. Well to begin with this, there was never a mission to start with, I just waltz into a cave thinking there might be new thu'um for me to get when I came across this dead "mage" (i think), read his journal and everything started, got the 2 previous ones and now I'm left with this, where to go and what/who to find in order to get the gate open?!

Deleted2039153User Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 It's seriously lame that they give you the Forbidden Legends quest outside of the College of Winterhold but you HAVE to become a mage to do it. My character's nowhere near a mage, and now I'm gonna have to do stuff I didn't really want to do on him to complete this quest. Was saving the College quests for my female mage.
