RoyBatterian
Mod packs are not allowed. There are guides like S.T.E.P. and others though.

forli
Modpacks are rare in any game, and are always a bad choice. Why? Tons of problems: The first problems is about the permissions: modpacks require the permissions from the authors of every single mod they want to include. This may be difficult, as many authors refuse to give the permission, but they have good reasons (Second problem --> ...) Second problem: if a modder update his mod, the modpack would still include the old version. If a player is using the modpack (with the old version) and install mods which require the updated version of that mod, big conflict or even savegame corruption may arise. Then, Players usually blame the author of that mod when it's obviously the modpack's author fault... Third problem: modpacks are time bombs: all mods are not always completely compatible each other. Sometimes the creator of the modpack doesn't carefully analyze the mods and may included incompatible mods. Sometimes he's not a skilled modder but still try to fix the incompatibilities himself by altering the mods, but they are not his mods, so (apart the lack of permissions to make such edits) he may cause even more bugs or even CTD, because he may touch something he shouldn't.Last but not least: should those mods ever be compatible each other (either natively or after the modpack's creator fixed the incompatibilities), the fragile balance between them may crumble as soon as you add another mod external to the package. Fourth problem: Installing a bunch of mods all together is the quickest way to problems and savegame corruption. A bugged mod which is causing CTD may be difficult to find in the modpack. Even worse, and incompatibility between 2 mods in the pack could make you headbutt your table for months trying to find the couple of mods in the entire pack which are incompatible each other. And the worst is: these incompatibilities may stay quiet for a while and then explode later in the savegame... when it's too late to recover it!Installing mods ONE BY ONE and test after each installation is always the best way to prevent that. If you install a mod, make a test and get a CTD, then either this mod is the cause (bug or bad installation) or it's incompatible with another mod in the list but you already know where to start. Fifth problem (the worst one): modpack cause players to blindly install the mods without even knowing what they are doing or how it will affect their savegames. If you want to avoid CTD, bugs, conflicts or (generally speaking) problems, you have to read each mod's readme/manual and read the comments in the Nexus mods page, to understand what will happens to the game and what bugs you may expect. In modpacks, the readme/manuals may not be included... but usually Players don't read the readme anyway, even if you wave it before their eyes, so this explains why 75% of posts on this site talks about "this doesn't work for me" or worse "the mod is bugged" (yes, some players even think it's the author/mod's fault!!).Modpacks don't help: players just believe the modpack's creator (and so they ignore the readme), drop everything in the Oblivion/Data folder and play, hoping their game only benefit from that... instead the game is preparing its vengeance against their savegame...
