Zachcuden
If co-op was made it would be to play with a friend you can sync mods with not a stranger. And I would not want an mmo co-op. Just 2-4 player max would be amazing Syncing mods? My Fallout 3 had over 100GB of mods alone. Having to get yur friends to get the exact same version and the same mods would be the biggest pain in the ass.If it's your friend/sibling I'm sure it would be simple to download together or just copy paste the data folder. Durgat
I would rather do quests and troll around in dungeons with a human companion than a dumb ass AI. This needs to be a thing.
LithianLord
Except you know...that whole "the engine will never support multiple players" thing that has been going on since arena.

dra6o0n
Multiplayer functionality for Skyrim is pretty much possible and less buggy for others to make it, simply because you do not need mods to add extra contents into the game. Vanilla alone gives enough content so there's no point of 100GB worth of mods for Skyrim. It was necessary for Oblivion because of the graphics, the sounds, contents, and areas that are majorly lacking (plus bethesda intended to sell DLCs)... I feel that the only thing you truly need with a Multiplayer mod, is a bug fix mod!You know, like the 'oblivion bug fix overhaul' one. And I know a little bit of network infrastructure, and while it might be buggy or laggy, it's possible to make it work decently with careful planning. For instance, do you really, REALLY, need to sync everything the game throws at the 'client'? Why not make it purposely like 'companions' where companions are linked to the host or player, and warps to him/her whenever he travels somewhere, and must stay within a vicinity of the host else get fast traveled to him. The radius of distance needed can possibly be long enough so players can explore in a wider scope without warping to them. The 'clients' would NEVER sync with the host's game world entirely, it would only sync things that are within a X radius around the host, while the host is seemingly playing a 'single player' game session. Think of players joining a person's session, is in form of a 'ghost' or something. Also unrelated to this topic: Skyrim on Adept difficulty can be quite hard, simply because you can't see what level the enemies are at. With that, you need actually 'better' companions who actually seems to have working skills and functionality...Bethesda didn't seem to improve on companions further other than adding a 'manual mouselook command mode' on them...Revising how bows and arrows works, and how fast swords can swing, turns the game into a more 'realistic' battle approach in terms of pacing, and thus gets difficult once you face multiple opponents (of which you definitely will find happening a lot!). I don't wanna say to much but im currently working on it :D Keeping it simple in design and functionality would benefit... Heck even if it's a 'trading' mod or some sort of social interaction 'mod' between players would do... Edited November 14, 2011 by dra6o0n

Zachcuden
Haha working on it? If it turns out as a full coop ill be super happy and will havr 10000 hrs of gameplay. If it is mod supported ill be even more happy. If its just an arena ill still be happy. Mostly because from there people.would be like "wow its possible, now lets expand to the rest of skyrim". Which most people have about 1-2mb/s upload speed Which would be 100,000 seconds or about 27 hours. (i my math is correct.) And that is JUST the upload time. Taking roughly 2 days to sync isnt easy. plus family/roomates would be very unpleased with how slow the internet is... If you had a PHD then yeah it would be way easier but still take hours... And the reason for 100gb's of mods was more land, more weapons, more armor etc. Not anything to game changing. Like I said it is possible but it will be a year if not longer for a TEAM to do it. So i fail to see it happening with skyrim. All the oblivion ones were disbanded and i fail to see how someone would beable to do it with skyrim if it wasnt done in oblivion. I love the idea, but i just dont see it happening. The only way i could see is something like a "Wow private server". haha those wree the days. Jut 30 people on my server xD But anyways. You would have to take everything from skyrim put it onto a "server" and get peopel to connect to it. Thats the only way i see this working. Even that might be a far fetched idea.
