Forcing model/texture change on weapon holstering

Is there a way to make holstering and unholstering weapons to cause a switch in an items texture? I know Assultron helmet animates upon that, but without Automatron DLC I can't dissect what scripting causes it (if there is any).

 

What scripting and applied to what would cause such an effect?
