Shadowmere forever lost...?

Hello,

Help! I'm in another crisis. I've lost Shadowmere. It's never disappeared before and I have no idea what happened.

I downloaded the 'Dude where's my horse' mod (after Shadowmere went missing) and it tells you in the readme that you need to mount a horse and it well then tell you where your last horse was left. Well, I equipped the mod and, depite telling me exactly where the horse I jumped on in order to find my own horse was (I mean, how useless is that?), there was nonetheless a moment where it highlighted an area somewhere in the wilderness of the West Weald. However, when I scoured the place thorougly, there was nothing there. Furthermore, the horse I'd stolen rapidly became the one that was highlighted on the map. Just where the hell is Shadowmere?

Surely there's some kind of mod or something that helps you to find named objects and people in the gameworld...!? If so, where is it? Please help.

I had that same problem, and downloaded that same mod, but since I hadn't mounted Shadowmere after installing the mod, it showed nothing. So, for the rest of the time I spent with that character until her inevitable deletion, was spent Shadowmere-less. The moral is to install your safety net before you fall to your death (or a similar metaphor).

Thanks for the comment, despite the gloomy news.

Isn't it possible to spawn a new Shadowmere, though? I heard somewhere that it was possible to replicate NPCs somewhere but it's probably only when you're standing next to them. Does anyone know any more than me about this option?

According to some guides, if you lost Shadowmere ... He should be back at Fort Faragut, where you first got him.

I haven't lost him but you're welcome to try :)

You are correct. However keep in mind that she "walks" there (as opposed to running or fast traveling) and she fights all hostile creatures on the way, so depending on where you lost her, it may take a couple of game-days for her to reach the fort. I would wait before spawning her with the console. Just go clear a couple of ruins in the meantime, I doubt you'll notice the time passing.

Yeah, I had heard the console spawned version of Shadowmere isn't as great as the original, though I've no clue whether it is true or not.

That makes no sense. The console spawned version is an exact clone: same stats, same everything.

That would be logical. I wonder why someone had claimed otherwise?

Anyway, if you spawn a Shadowmere while Shadowmere is still around, do you get two Shadowmeres, or does it just bring your Shadowmere to you?
